Sinchai Wattanasatsathorn said that at present tourist numbers were similar to last year but things were gradually improving. He called the number of people seen on Pattaya and Jomtien beaches this past weekend as a "good sign" that things were improving. Picture: Sophon Cable TV Regarding hotels he said that they were showing a 30-40% increased occupancy though he conceded that most of this was in five star hotels who were offering four star prices. The real problems for hotel owners were those in the three star bracket though even there things were on the mend. Picture: Sophon Cable TV He said that plans for the Area Hotel Quarantine - where foreign tourists will be able to leave their rooms after three days of incarceration to enjoy the grounds - would be a further positive step. The plans were at least an improvement on 14 day quarantine in rooms.
