Seven Thai men sentenced to death for execution style murder of Krabi family members in 2017

The Supreme Court has upheld death sentences against seven Thai men in the slaying of eight members of the same family in Krabi in southern Thailand in July 2017.
 
In a video conference decision the court said there were no mitigating circumstances and the sentence would act as a deterrent.
 
The seven men were also ordered to pay financial restitution to the families of all those killed in sums varying from 400,000 to 2 million baht. 
 
Sentenced to death was the ringleader Surikfat "Bung Fat" Bannopwongkun, 41, Khomsan Wiangnon, 36, Abdullo Dolo, 30, Arun Thongkham, 29, Prajak Bunthoy, 36, Thanachai Jamnong, 41 and Thawatchai Binkhong, 37.
 
Chalita Sangchote, the forty one year old wife of Bung Fat was given a twelve month jail sentence for her part in the murder, reported Daily News.
 
She was not involved in the killings but hid valuables from the murder scene. 
 
On July 10th 2017 in Ban Klang, Ao Leuk, Krabi the men entered the home of local chief Worayut Sanglang wearing military style clothing. 
 
They terrorized the family before shooting eleven people execution style. Three - a mother and her daughters - survived. 
 
The incident happened after the father in law of the chief had loaned land to Bung Fat that was not returned. 
 
The case was widely reported at the time causing revulsion at the grisly nature of the crime.

Normally, I'm opposed to capital punishment but those convictions crumble when I contemplate the horror and terror the victims of these arrogant scum must have experienced in their last moments.

I find myself wishing for old "Khun Chavoret", the Last Executioner" to re-appear with his single machine gun loaded with 14 bullets and that the condemned be placed in a line and dispatched one at a time, with the leader: "Bung Fat" last to go.

Don't waste a bullet on any of them, hang them all up from poles, but not before all from the village come out to spit on them and throw rotten tomatoes and the like at them, then douse petrol on them, and one by one, kick the chairs from under their feet and light them up at the same time.

Actually,

They will spend years and years in the death ' den ' where all death sentence prisoners are put.

They have their legs shackled 24/7. It's no fun, but in a way you are right, they get used to the inconvenience, so additional hard labor would be a good move.

It would be better if it was rolled out worldwide with all countries participating and abolish the death penalty, as some countries implement this soon after sentence giving the perpetrators a speedy end.

You would also remove the ammunition and objections by the ' woke brigade ' and the lefty ' human rights '  groups by not sending them to their death.

Killing them in silence is just too good for them. Others who committed non violent crimes get to spend X years in Bangkok Hilton.... Yet these sick murderers will only suffer the moment previous to the bullet hitting their skull, or the drugs from the injection entering their bloodstream. 

Killing them in the middle of the town, like others suggested, is equally sick and disgusting for today's world. 

The best solution would be forced labor, making something productive for the rest of the society, until the day they die from over working whatever. That way they would really suffer for the crime they committed.

A warning to all Thai citizens that there is a payback time .

After being sentenced to death, what's the worst that could happen if they don't ? 

 

My guess is that the restitution edict will allow authorities to attach whatever assets they may leave behind.  Otherwise, their estates would probably just pass to their heirs.
