Economic secretary Tasio Saito and an infrastructure attache were inquiring about the development of the monorail and Covid effects. Sontaya was able to tell them that foreign tourists had stopped coming to a level of 95% but that a study of the monorail scheme had been accomplished and environmental impacts and plans for private investment were being drawn up. Sophon reported that the Japanese are interested in investing in the monorail. The mayor said that Japan has the expertise and the technology in place to play a role in the building of the system. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-03-19 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
Justgrazing
They are pretty good at monorails are Japan with systems that have the train hanging from beneath the tracking like a bat so would make sense if they got involved ..

redwood1
The previous monorail route to the darkside had I think 3 major multi multi million baht studies done over the last 10-15 years... Now all those studies are useless... The new monorail route is way longer and more problematic if they still intend to go to Bali Hi........ Not sure why the Japaneese would be interested... But lots more money to be made on studies.... Edited March 20, 2021 by redwood1
