Thailand reports first death of patient after having COVID vaccine

Health ministry aide Dr Sophon Mekthon said that a patient had died after receiving a Covid-19 vaccination but it was unlikely to be related.

 

The patient had a history of being treated for problems related to broken blood vessels in the stomach and had passed away from that, something that could happen at any time. 

 

Two other people suffered severe hives reactions to taking the virus, he said.

 

Normal side effects would be pain, swelling and redness at the site of the jab and maybe fever that would subside in 1-2 days, he noted.

 

Thai Rath asked him about the case of deputy Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Mananya Thaiset being in hospital for four days after getting a vaccination.

 

Dr Sophon said he didn't know anything at all about that. 

 

Thai Rath said that the death of the patient was the first since the rollout began in Thailand at the end of February and further details would be needed to determine if it was related.

So pure speculation at this point and only conjecture.  The man could have been hit by a bus and killed, but the title still would still have said he died after having Covid vaccination...this is just...well I won't say.

How many people have been vaccinated so far?

Most countries show these statistics, but I haven't seen any figures from Thailand. Does anyone have a link?

In the Thai Rath article translated on Google it says the patient who died was under 60. However we all know the mistakes Google can make with Thai translation

So if a patient dies of covid vaccine but has underlying health conditions then he didn't die of covid vaccine.

 

But if a patient gets covid and has underlying health conditions he then died of covid?

 

Just wondering if that's how it works?

Imagine, if you will, this happened and the government didn't tell anyone about it but then the information leaked out. In the grand scheme of things this is very important to know much better than accusations of a cover-up and the inevitable conspiracy theories that would no doubt follow.

What a cluster, that one would even have to be placed in the Covid death category after being run over by a bus and dying and yet someone saying it could have been Vaccine related....just craziness.

Yes - one day he would have died anyway. Now earlier. BUT WAIT - I don't want to make such an experience. These vaccinations are not free of risks. This is a known fact in the meantime.

No.

 

If a patient has a serious, potentially life threatening underlying health condition and dies as a result of that health condition following receipt of COVID vaccine the death was likely unrelated to the vaccine.

 

Ditto if someone dies of an accident following vaccination.

Would we be correct in assuming it’s the Chinese vaccine they have kept it very quiet I cannot see it being the same vaccine that was used on the PM and his ministers

Sometimes the narrative is interesting. If an old person get COVID and dies, it's COVID for sure. If an old person get a COVID vaccine and dies: let's not rush to judgement.

The difference is that those with covid infection are ventilated because they cannot breathe. Thai is NOT caused by hypertension, diabetes, cardiac problems. Even Fauci states this fact months ago. The vast majority of those hospitalised with covid and ventilated, are dying from covid. It's quite obvious to medical staff treating them. Deaths due to vaccinations are much harder to pinpoint and causal links need to be demonstrated. And I don't see any evidence of such causal links thus far.
