Today’s COVID-19 positive cases, arising from the infamous February 20 Community Event are expected to be the highest to date with high triple digit numbers. The Ministry of Health is expected to announced COVID-19 positive cases of between 160 to 180 or even higher today when it releases its normal release with statistics on infections, recovery rates, and deaths.

The February 20 Community Event numbers rose to 1,444 and national tally to 1,968 with today’s announcement of 96 positive cases. Cambodia has had another bad day in its fight against the February 20 Community Event, as another death was confirmed this morning.

The eighth COVID-19 victim in the Kingdom is identified as Thorn Chanthoeun, a 55-year-old traffic police stationed in Phnom Penh. He was accepted by the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital after being found in serious condition yesterday at 3:30 pm and passed away just 30 minutes later on the same day.
