snoop1130
Chiang Mai has once again earned the unenviable tag as the world’s most polluted city. According to air quality company IQ Air, Chiang Mai’s air quality index on Friday morning was 186 or ‘very unhealthy - and worse than any other city in the world. The poor air quality was due to forest fires at Doi Suthep Pui National Park on Thursday, Siam Rath reported. The poor air quality meant that people in the province were advised to wear face masks outdoors, close windows and doors and avoid exercise outdoors. The forest fires also resulted in poor air quality in neighbouring Chiang Rai, as well as in parts of Mae Hong Son, Nan, Phayao, Lampang, Phrae and Uttaradit. In the north-east air quality on Friday exceeded standard levels in Khon Kaen, Sakon Nakhon and Bueng Kan. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-04-02 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

worgeordie
It's not only the air, the water in the river at the rear of our house turned black, like someone had been dumping the contents of those sewerage sucking trucks, took two days for it to turn back to the brown/green normal colour,as the flow is very slow at this time of year. Seems like nobody gives a sh*t ,pardon the pun, just like previous years nothing is going to change, next to nothing is done proactively to stop the burning and other pollution, putting water sprayers in city centre is not a solution.......it will be exactly the same next year..... regards worgeordie

Yom
The poor air quality was due to forest fires at Doi Suthep Pui National Park on Thursday... Why do they write things like this? Most of the forests are set on fire in Myanmar/Burma. Most of the forests(?) are set on fire in Laos. Full stop. *******************

And the main focus of the fires lies in Burma and Laos. Or, how would you for example explain AQI 332 in Mae Sai and 'only' AQI 160 in Phayao? https://www.windfinder.com Some AQI-numbers 16:00 *************** Edited April 3, 2021 by Yom
