ThailandRyan 21080
Are these cases listed in a prior count or are they in addition to todays 96. I realize they are inmates, but staff does go in and out as well as relatives visiting. 1

I agree completely. With Songkran coming this government better be getting ready for many field hospitals, but then that is just my view and opinion. There has also been no information to the variant strains they are finding among the infected. 4 2

Probably not, that cost money as CCSA complained about with the migrant outbreak earlier. Just lock them down and go for the herd immunity in the group, same as migrant/factory camps. Popular Post Cake Monster 5350
It was only a matter of when and not if an outbreak occurred in a Prison. With over 2000 inmates, the entire Prison will need testing. The Inmates, Warders, Admin Cooks, Etc Etc , as well as people that are entering for visiting, special case needs Etc Etc, plus their close contacts. We are probably talking of over 4500 potential positives from this outbreak, and the CCSA need to check each and every person, and not whinging about the cost, just because the majority are Prisoners.

Everything is done on the cheap here. In any case its frightening with thr staff being out in the general public. Its a large prison.
MarcelV 102
I live close to the prison. People are panicking right now and a provincial or nationwide lockdown could be coming soon. I hope not.
Popular Post ThailandRyan 21080
As many of us have said, it was only a matter of time. Hard to believe that it has not occurred sooner. Plus when you add in the families that visit, staff coming and going, and then deliveries being made, could that be where it originated from. We will never know because they are only testing folks they trace, track, or who walk-in to a hospital with symptoms, which may be advanced after having tried to treat themselves via. the local pharmacy yet still roamed around before going to the hospital because they were afraid of being separated from friends and family. It is a wonder there has not been a large scale outbreak like in Samut Sakhon after Christmas. But with Songkran Travel coming, one never knows. I do not wish ill on Thailand but to many who believe that they have had the tiger by the tail, I would say the opposite. If only they tested more openly and randomly to anyone that wanted to be tested, and then to not hospitalize everyone that is positive. With my post there will be those who come along and once again spout off about "You cant hide the bodies or the full hospitals, and if Covid was here it would be all over social media". As I said in my post folks are afraid of being stuck with the cost, stuck away from family, and stuck with the will of the government and they also seem to believe that Covid is not here and only the Burmese and foreigners are bring it in. Good luck and stay safe folks. 5

Some of the Inmates will be doing Daily work details prior to release, the Inmates have to go to the Hospitals, and Dentists Etc. Those on Remand have to make Court appearances, and there is the constant movement of prisoner between Jails for various reasons Also the supply Personnel for the Food Etc will all be involved, as will drivers Etc Potentially, this could be the worse outbreak Thailand has seen so far. Good for you, (Sherm), really. So you got your double dose of the Name Brand "experimental vaccine" approved under emergency use, or the gene therapy ones depending on the "brand" both with only very short term data available, the latter never having been used on humans before. It's always good to thoroughly research things before allowing others to do what they think is best for you. VAAE's is something you should have researched, i.e. what long term affects have been associated with vaccines, then you can make an informed decision, but then again, you made your decision and all I can say to that is best of luck mate.
Dialemco 458
It is a shame that after being so careful to control Covid which has probably always been present in Thailand instead of waiting for the vaccine to be rolled out people have been given a long Songran holiday and been encouraged to travel around Thailand which means there is a high risk of increase in Covid infections and consequences of locks downs and long delay in planned opening for International Tourism.
phetphet 1714
Not surprised. Large numbers of people kept in crowded conditions. I wonder when the IDC will be the same.
