webfact
People might need a little more choice in order to feel confident in choosing whether or not to sign up to be vaccinated. Photo: PPHO By The Phuket News PHUKET: The push to vaccinate as many people in Phuket as possible before the July 1 deadline is underway, with more than 7,000 people receiving their first injections within 24 hours after the first main delivery of vaccines arrived on the island this week. According to officials, Day 2 of the campaign (Apr 2) saw a further 4,744 people receive their first injections at the five vaccine “service centres”on the island: 887 at the Phuket Airport X Terminal building; 645 at the Jungceylon shopping mall in Patong; 783 at the Angsana Laguna Phuket resort in Cherng Talay; 1,827 at the Indoor Sports Stadium at Saphan Hin; and 602 at the Phuket Orchid Resort & Spa in Karon. Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew has made his position plain, urging every person on the island eligible to be vaccinated to register, though some doubt has risen over how urgently the expat community is expected to step up. Jeffr2
From the article: Concerns over Chinese-developed pharmaceutical products aside, a clear reason to delay taking the Sinovac vaccine is why choose to receive a vaccine that is only 50.4% effective in preventing infections – though over 80% in preventing the patient from developing symptoms requiring hospitalisation – when by waiting perhaps six to eight weeks a vaccine will be available that is more than 80% effective in preventing any infection.

I'd still prefer the J&J jab. It's the variants I'm now worried about. Edited April 5, 2021 by Jeffr2 2

WhiteBuffaloATM
Best assume any “data” from China or Russia or EU is , as usual, all lies, nonsense and propaganda, unless corroborated by multiple qualified & trusted western agencies. AZ just completed final American FDA (gold std) trials with 100% efficacy in preventing in- patient & death cases. Approved by UK. No unusual side affects linked. Will be checking the Vax Vial Label & Support Docs pre-injection. That’s sufficient for me. Already responded to Bangkok- Phuket Hospital email Survey last week to take AZ when available. Assume will need a Vax Card anyway for expat travel and work later this year. All pro-tyranny apologists, anti- vax loons, conspiracy theorist fools & certifiable trolls can go diddle themselves...... or take an online course in Logic & Reason ..... facts, science, evidence etc..... like we’ve had established for the last 500 years in civilized cultures......... I would agree....although evidence seems to be building that AZ blood clots may result in younger women, at least, considering taking an alternative vaccine.
