Vietnam, which has 6.5 times the population, only recorded 35 deaths so far, to put it into perspective.

It got really tiring to read the opinion of people, who for the most part knew next to nothing about Cambodia, posting that it's due to this or that reason that Cambodia had so few cases and no deaths for such a long time. To which I always replied that it was due to the virus not circulating here. Now, we see the results after it does. The silver lining is that new infections have trended downwards, in the mid-double digit figures for a few days in a row now.

Sadly, yes indeed, and the current crisis known as the February 20 Community Incident (also regarded as a National Disaster) was the result of 4 infected Chinese women escaping from quarantine by bribing 2 security guards. Quote:-

"Four COVID-19 positive Chinese nationals escape from Sokha Hotel, one of the quarantine accommodations for new arrivals and returnees, causing chaos and panic, triggering virtual lockdowns in six provinces as a surge in community outbreak threatens to shutdown the entire Kingdom"

"............ unveiled the unlikely Hollywood-like tale of how a flight (private jet) from Dubai to Phnom Penh and a pre-arranged and well-coordinated escape strategy, all part of a well hatched plan of servicing the entertainment and gambling circuit in countries where COVID-restrictions are less severe, have undone 13 months of sacrifice and hard work of the many to successfully contain the COVID situation"
