Cambodian Gov’t imposes inter-provincial travel ban to stem the spread of COVID-19

The government has imposed an inter-provincial travel ban for 14 days in a bid to stem the spread of the COVID-19 as the February 20 community cases are surging. In a directive issued today, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the ban comes into effect on Wednesday till April 20.

 

“Traveling from one province to another is temporarily banned for 14 days as of April 7 till April 20 to fight and to curb the spread of COVID-19 from the territory of one province to another,” he said.

 

He said that travel between Phnom Penh and Kandal province is not affected by the ban. All tourist attraction areas across the country are closed for 14 days, he said.
