The Thai baht has burst through the 43 baht mark to a UK pound sterling.

This will be good news to thousands of UK pensioners living in the kingdom.

Yesterday sterling hit 43.35 on SuperRich and today it is currently trading at 43.20 to large denomination notes.

Other rates on the site as of today (7th April) are 31.27 for US dollars, 37.00 for a Euro, 33.45 for a Swiss franc and 23.80 for an Aussie dollar.

Great, a 'who's got the bigger dick' argument already, and we're only on the first page!

I tend to send myself about 2500 pounds each month so compared to when it was 39 Baht per pound I will receive an extra 10,000 Baht per month.   Better than a kick in the nuts 🙄🤣

Unfortunately some long term expats came out when the pound was 70+ and with prices then they managed on their pension....times change of course.

Depends how much the frozen pension is. 🤔

How about Thailand making an agreement like the Philippines has.

Shouldn't really be relying on the govt pension anyway

p.s. forgot to mention the house back in the UK that I own also

You only have 3 properties?

Why did you comment on the poster transferring 2500 a month, why did that shock you?

Now it is just waiting until the prices of imported goods increase more than the exchange rate has improved.

Been in Big C lately.

The Casino products increased by 25-30%. Not the dry foods yet, because they will have been imported longer ago.

Company has taken over the butchery, and most meat prices increased by up to 100% over night. KU burger, which is Thai produce, from 250 to 450 Baht over night.

Whole chicken fried, normally 125 Baht, yesterday 209 Baht.

I feel a trend coming. Haven't been in Lotatt for months, but maybe someone can confirm if the same is happening there.

Why spend more, for the sake of spending,

i couldn't drink any more alcohol without dying.

i'm too old to bang any more hookers than I already use.

I already have a pickup, a scooter and a M/c.

My fridge is full of bacon, milk and cheese, if I eat any more I'll explode.

All my party holiday countries are closed (Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines).

How is it possible to spend more than 50k/month?

If I answered you would only disagree and belittle, so there is little point.

What I will say though is that this forum has been 'discussing' the monthly spend topic not only for years but for DECADES and it still will be in another 10 years (if the world hasn't already ended) Round and round and round we go. Rinse and repeat.

Trouble is when you calculate your Thai investment and  looking to exit many millions of baht out of Thailand that can be quite a loss even if only on paper ... Works both ways ...:-(

Can I join in with the smallest dick?  43 to the £ as against 37 to the pound costs me £4,700 for each container of goods I ship in for my business.
