The paint thing is usually down to them overthinning it (but it can be poor preparation). They do it because without the thinners it dries too fast due to the heat - but ovethinning destroys much of the paint's properties. Just have to paint faster .

Day 7 of my build is over, and the guys have cleared off for Songkran.

Ground floor concrete finished, next comes the upper floor, then render and tile.

They estimated they'd be finished  before  the end of the month.
