snoop1130
A deputy mayor of Pattaya told Sophon Cable TV that the contract to build an athletics track and astroturf football pitch at a stadium near the city has been delayed. The contract has had to be extended by six months. The 20,000 seat stadium is at the Eastern Seaboard Sports Center in Huay Yai, Bang Lamung. Pattana Bunsawat explained that the contractors discovered a thick layer of rock that slowed things down, Sophon reported. After complaints from the locals about the noise from blasting they were obliged to use another method utilizing chemicals to disintegrate the rock. Matters are progressing well now and it is hoped that the stadium will be ready to host the Asian Athletics Championships in 2022. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-04-07 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

It will be 2023 according to everything I've just searched and read. They hold them every other year. The next one was supposed to be held in Hangzhou, China from 20-23 May of this year but was cancelled. Thailand was given the 2023 Competition last January (2021) and apparently is also going to be hosting the even larger SE Asia Games in 2025 with "Chon Buri" being noted as one of the places they could be held (another article specifically said Pattaya and referenced the stadium under construction).
thailand49
They been dreaming about some games for close to 20 years, most likely the delay is not from blasting because I was up there watching them do it it went on and on surprise now a big rock was missed or maybe since funds were again allocated they decided to use it again for other things? They have already taken a half a billion for things like improving Beach road placing traffic light throughout the area. Now where did it go this time????? Cake Monster
Good choice of Site, and exceptional work to do a Ground Survey prior to construction. Not
