Health officials in Hua Hin on Wednesday ordered all bars and pubs in the city to close until 12th April.

The move is aimed at limiting the spread of the new wave of coronavirus infections, for which Hua Hin has seen a recent spike in cases.

While bars have been ordered to close for four days, officials said they could extend this to fourteen days should more cases be found.

Officials also said that anyone organising events with more than 100 attendees need to seek permission from officials first.

Officials also said that social distancing will be more rigorously enforced and restaurants should ensure that tables are spaced 2 metres apart.

The measures were announced on the Prachuap Khiri Khan Province's Disease Control Committee Facebook page following a meeting on Wednesday afternoon..

Meanwhile, Prachuap Khiri Khan governor Phallop Singhaseni announced that Hua Hin Hospital 5 is being prepared as a field hospital should the COVID-19 situation worsen.

Also on Wednesday, True Arena Hua Hin Sports Club announced it would temporarily close for deep cleaning, after a person who used the facility later tested positive for COVID-19.

To me the two sentences above seem completely contradictory.

How can they talk about social distancing of  two metres, and events of up to a hundred attendees?

This also is confusing. Where are the boundaries of "the city"? Every soi beetwen 1 and 140 or what?

So close a small street bar that may seat 10 people max yet possibly allow a party of 100?

Makes real sense.
