Firstly it means just what it says on the tin - stay home and no parties. Stay away from other family member - stay two meters apart. Wear a mask and don't share plates, glasses or utensils with others in the household. If you're well off assign a toilet to yourself only. If not, be the last one to use it after others then clean surfaces with disinfectant paying close attention to bath, toilet, sink taps and door knobs. If you are living alone keep a phone by your side. If going to hospital with symptoms don't use public transport. Tell a taxi driver about yourself. Clean your car inside. Remember above all - home quarantine is 14 days. It is literally impossible to stay apart from each other in these very small rooms. In addition, these rooms and dormitories have no cooking facilities inside the room. The occupants eat street food on a daily basis. How would these people eat for two weeks? Where would they get water from? How would they earn money to eat, as many of these people survive on a daily wage? Don't get me wrong it is all of value, but until this government will allow it it is all conjecture. My view unfortunately is clouded from past experiences of people I know who returned here from the US, who tested positive with covid and were only asymptomatic, never getting truly sick, but still were hospitalized while already staying in a quarantine ASQ. Only those unable to separate from the rest of negative family were ordered to assigned hotels. in thailand it's much harder to quarantine home, because overcrowding and extended families living together, but also lack of self-discipline. There was an incident that over 120 thai passengers from repatriation flight from the usa run away from bkk airport, despiye being ordered quarantine. there suppose to be field hospitals for those with light symptoms, but ao far there are not any in bangkok. Waiting for everyone to go before you do is nonsense. 2: I had to quarantine after someone I had contact with (we were in same room for 10 minutes and socially distanced but no masks) who had a contact with someone who had C-19, so it is not only infected people who quarantine. Believe the house I am in now has 4 toilets. 1 downstairs and 1 for each bedroom. But id say 2 is more standard for those living in a house in a gated community. If in a condo.. not so much luck. The problem with this new variant is the huge number of viral particles in peoples breath, so talking to people close up in enclosed spaces is a major problem, and only N95 masks will be good enough. Bangkok obviously will be the worst, but hypermarkets and shopping malls all over the country will be hotspots, though it's easy enough to stay safe by following sensible precautions.
