Jonathan Fairfield
BANGKOK (NNT) - Emergency service in Bangkok, from firefighters to paramedics, are now on standby to respond to any case of emergency during this year’s Songkran holidays, with special focus on road traffic during the so-called “7 days of danger”. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has held a dispatching ceremony for firefighters, rescuers, patrols, paramedics and disaster response crews onboard 43 vehicles. They will be on standby at one of the 37 fire and rescue stations in the capital, as well as service centers and road traffic checkpoints at 11 locations during the Songkran 7 days of danger, from 10 to 16 April. Their main tasks are to ensure the safety of residents and prevent road accidents, while raising the awareness of safe travel and the prevention of potential harm. A BMA’s Deputy Permanent Secretary Chatree Wattanakhajorn has urged all Bangkok district offices to be vigilant and help prevent accidents during the holidays, such as fire and road accidents. He has urged all officials to implement the preventative measures against COVID-19 strictly, to help build confidence among the public over the Thai New Year holiday. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-04-11 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

They are 5 vehicles short.
Wiggy
Good to know that they’re not on standby during the other 358 days.

Would have thought they would have been better used outside the city than inside it. The wacky races seem to occur outside the city in the rush to get away and back again. Last time I was in BKK for Songkran it was completely deserted
