webfact
Thailand’s northern province of Chiang Mai recorded an additional 281 COVID-19 cases today (Sunday), mostly related to nightspots, prompting provincial authorities to expand facilities at the field hospital. According to the provincial health office, infections in the third wave of the outbreak are 662. 186 patients are now being treated at the field hospital, located in the International trade exhibition centre, 91 female and 95 male, said health officials, adding that new asymptomatic and mild cases are flowing into the hospital on daily basis. Popular Post RichardColeman
From link : Yesterday, health officials appealed for public donations of bottled drinking water, sanitary paper, garbage bins and bags, beds and mattresses for the field hospital. Not enough testing, not enough vaccine and now they cannot even get the quarantines up and running without public donations. Is Thailand that broke that they cannot even give loo roll to these people ? What next ? Bring your own bucket ? Well if the billions moved out of the country in the last 10 years were to be returned then there would be more than adequate funds I suspect. However the biggest "legalised" money laundering nations outside of Thailand would not take too kindly to that I suspect.

Thailand
Why are mild cases being treated in hospital? "People with mild symptoms who are otherwise healthy should manage their symptoms at home. On average it takes 5–6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to show, however it can take up to 14 days."
Popular Post Stargeezr
Hey fellow posters, it would be a good thing if you could all go to some Thai family homes and see how the vast majority of them live. 8 to 12 people per house with 2 bathrooms for them all, and you still wonder why hospitals are taking in so many Thais. I am surprised that so many posters on the forum has not sorted out this situation in their minds. Geezer 1
Burma Bill
From the link:- "Yesterday, health officials appealed for public donations" In my opinion, why not appeal to the Government to cancel orders for new military equipment and use the money "for the people" and "not against them"!!!

I know many Thai families and the closeness may increase the risk of infection but that still does not make sense to hospitalise those with only mild infections.
