Chart below shows 6190 people currently hospitalized, 5608 in traditional hospitals and 582 in field hospital facilities, with 9 cases deemed in serious condition.

Note: Under government policy, anyone who tests positive for COVID is required to be hospitalized in some kind of facility until they no longer are contagious, even if they're not having any symptoms. So the numbers below are largely a function of COVID case counts.

Via the Thai Enquirer:

"Of the 956 local cases that were found in the past 24 hours, 251 were found in Chiang Mai alone, followed by Bangkok (194), Chonburi (97) and Prachuap Khiri Khan (73).

Thailand found 4,784 covid-cases between April 1 and 12. Of that, 1,434 were found in Bangkok followed by Chiang Mai (629), Chonburi (498), Samut Prakan (367), Narathiwat (296) and Prachuap Khiri Khan (232).

The cluster at entertainment venues in Bangkok and surrounding provinces had led to 2,626 confirmed cases in 55 provinces between March 22 and April 12.

Domestic cases chart below excludes the imported cases reported from quarantine today.

New cases have plateaued so you guys who have been predicting viral apocalypse for the past few days won't have to lock yourself in your basement for the next year after all.

Is it a plateau before a big hike or a big drop?I might wait a bit before I head to the wine cellar for a year!

Slight reduction, i wonder how much of the reduction is because of less testing and people being on holiday not caring about tests.

Im actually surprised it still that high given Songkran and less tests.

It will be more interesting to see what the result will be after this holiday when people are back and tests are being done more regularly.

In addition to this those who have been pro activily trying to get tested have been finding it very hard, those that have managed to find a testing venue have been given a 4 day wait for an appointment (Richard Barrow tweet)

Don't you think there are good reasons for the number being lower, like the fact loads of Thais are traveling having fun with songkran. Many hospitals have suspended testing there are not enough tests and people are on holliday (nurses and Drs too).

It will be interesting later after Songkran, willing to bed it will go up and up. Don't forget also officials are on holidays. So to expect it efficient as before is not realistic.

Lets wait and see after the holliday.

"fact loads"! I'll pay that one, very creative for English as a second language! And that's just fact!????

As a measure of pandemic status, daily infection rates are meaningless unless accompanied by the number of tests.

A graph of infection rates particularly by cluster would be more meaningful.

MoPH used to have a site on their website where they had current / live testing data, but that was made inaccessible sometime back, AFAIK.

The only other real time testing info I've seen lately has been from the BMA's Thong Lo entertainment venue workers outreach testing, where positivity rates in the past week have been running above 15%.  But that's not public at large testing...

Obviously not enough testing. I think WHO has said that 5% or more positivity is indicative of lack of testing.

"A COVID-19 surge in Chiang Mai is considered to be a red alert after the province recorded an additional 269 COVID-19 cases on Monday [yesterday], and the number of at-risk people is estimated at about 5,000-6,000.

[Note: 251 additional cases were reported for Chiang Mai today, more than Bangkok for the second consecutive day.]

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said Chiang Mai led Bangkok and Chon Buri in new COVID-19 infections as Thailand logged a new daily record of 985 cases yesterday. The Chiang Mai figures included a large cluster found in the province on Sunday afternoon.

Chiang Mai governor Charoenrit Sa-nguansat said the situation is critical and the key to preventing large clusters forming was to identify and isolate those at most risk as quickly as possible. "

Forced medication for heretics? Very authoritarian.

Pharmacies are open even today, you can pop in a buy what's needed for whatever ails you, much of it is over the counter, not authoritarian but being a realist and far from being a heretic such as the term you used.

And what medicine do you suggest I need for holding a different opinion?
