Govt considers lockdown for Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chonburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan

I think this government is realizing they are caught in a dream and it matches up with this songs lyrics:

It’s beautiful, it’s bittersweet
You’re like a broken home to me Covid
I take a shot of memories
And black out like an empty street
I fill my days with the way you spread
And fill my nights with broken dreams
I make up lies inside my head
Like one day you’ll come back and infect me

Now I’m not holding on, not holding on
I’m just depressed that you’re not gone
Not holding on, not holding on

Beautiful mistakes, I make inside my head
Now the Virus is in my bed
And now I lie awake, still makin’ beautiful mistakes
I wouldn’t take ‘еm back
I’m in love with the past
And now I liе awake, makin’ beautiful mistakes

Som Nam Na, in my head
Som Nam Na, in my bed
Som Nam Na

Seems to me they are just about to propagate a mass road death program by the public now rushing at 200kph to get back home before they can't and undo any 'good' they may have done with road deaths in Songkran in the first few days

What good would that be?

Is anyone in government weighing up the continued economic damage against the cost of getting some vaccines distributed, even if its the ineffective sinovac?

Submarines, moon rockets, a space programme??

To all the people who were convinced Thailand was uniquely capable globally of containing the virus, what has happened? Why can't they rely on whatever mystical magic they relied on the in the early stages? Have they run out of the proper color Amulets?

Blame the unelected "PM" for allowing all these Burmese illegal workers in to Thailand. Then you have the situation regarding "government" officials and certain Bangkok night clubs.

Let's not forget the illegal border crossings in Chiang Mai last year into Laos to/from the casinos.  Kinda similar to what started this wave.  In the end, pretty much all 3 waves were due to corruption.

They almost had it under control here, & getting ready to re-open to foreign tourists, then WHAM! all goes pear shaped over Songkran.  It's almost as if those in charge wanted this to happen.

They did, but I suspect certain connected peoples bank accounts did not go up as far as they expected.

Are you comparing the UK’s response to Kovic 19 with 127,000 dead to Thailand response with 97 deaths

Good point, but the UK have much more obesity, a much more older generation, and people with drink problems than Thailand.

And they botched the initial response. Just like the US.

Rather pointless comment....I know where I am......and I know this is the way Thais are handling it..........your comment is tantamount to saying the conflict in Myanmar is 'okay', because that is the way they do it............ enforcing quarantine in a state run facility should be of concern to everyone.........regardless of where it is taking place.

My point is far from pointless.  Other countries have tried the self isolation and it did not work for them, Thailand does it the way I stated and it did seem to work in the overall scheme of things so at least get that right.  No where do I say anything about the conflict in Myanmar being okay.  You always seem to add in a Gaslight comment instead of just addressing the issue.  Go gaslight someone else.
