Popular Post webfact
Image: Police confiscate sex toys during a raid in Pattaya in 2018. Despite being illegal, sales in Thailand of vibrators and other sex toys are buzzing, a new report has revealed. According to Vice News, Thailand’s customs department confiscated 4,000 sex toys in 2020. This is despite punishment for anyone found to be selling, buying or in possession of sex toys facing up to three years in jail and/or a fine of up to 60,000 baht. The report by Vice says that the Thai government’s refusal to legalise sex toys because it goes “against the view of Thai society,” is hypocritical given the country’s prominent sex industry, which the site says is a $6.4 billion dollar industry. While sex toys are openly sold in places like Nana, Patpong and Silom, it is all on the black market. “The government’s refusal to legalize sex toys is driving the black market to grow because humans will always have sexual desires; this law doesn’t stop people from buying. They will [simply] find a different way,” Natasha, the sex toy seller told Vice News. “Black market profits from this law tremendously. Anyone can make a quick buck because there’s no rule, no regulations. Sellers can profit 10 times in a single sale if they want to, because they’re above the law. This is why it must be changed,” Nisarat Jongwisan who has led a movement to legalise sex toys in Thailand, told Vice. Like elsewhere around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has further contributed to the demand in Thailand for sex toys. But demand for sex toys in Thailand came before the COVID-19 pandemic. A report by Thai media in 2018 highlighted the growing demand for sex toys in Thailand. In 2019, police carried out a raids on street vendors along Sukhumvit, close to Nana BTS station, where sex toys and illegal sex pills totalling 2 million Baht were confiscated. Last year, an MP from Thailand’s Civilised Party proposed legalising prostitution and sex toys in a bid to reduce the number of sex crimes that are committed in the country each year. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-04-17 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

Popular Post FarangFB
Here are a couple questions I never found the answer: 1- what happens if you're caught with a sex toy on your luggage when coming in? 2- what happens if you buy some sex toy overseas (say Aliexpress) and it gets caught by customs? For the second question I have somewhat experienced it - the order could be considered a sex toy but at the same time it didn't really have any resemblance to a human body part so it could be just a massage device - it never got delivered and when tracking the package I got "Unsuccessful delivery,Prohibited articles - item not delivered/Item seized or destroyed because of nature of content" Obviously I never complained, this was months ago and I just let it go. I do have other successful purchases and also friends who ordered loads of sex toys, many with quite obvious shapes and they all cleared through customs without hassle. Its pot luck I think as to whether it gets picked up . The only time I had a problem was when I was trying to import a blow up sheep for my Welsh friend. Customs stopped it because of no livestock import licence, baaa 3

Just buy them off Lazada and ensure you have the "Local" box checked when searching so that you only buy ones that are already in Thailand and don't need to go through customs. 2

Popular Post SomchaiCNX
Same as prostitution, make it legal. I can not believe why so many governments are interested in controlling the sexual needs of their citizens. Probably religion and that some people (BIB and those in power) may lose a lot of illegal made money. Geee. Look at this way. 3 years in jail is better than life sentence or death penalty. I guess it's time to get rid of my dildoes. I better get a gun before they ban that too.
