carlyai
There's a flapper valve used as a NRV for water, not the spring loaded brass ones. What do you call them.
Popular Post KhunBENQ
With a flap? The ones I have/know are also made of brass. The usual English word seems to be "check valve"? "swing check valve" seems to be the word. Edited April 18, 2021 by KhunBENQ

Jaxxper
Sounds like some sort of check valve. Allows only flow in one direction.
Aussieroaming
In line valves as shown are referred to as either a check valve or non return valve and allow flow only in one direction as per the directional arrow on the valve body, which dictates installation orientation.
carlyai
I need to replace my Spring Check Valve with a Swing Check Valve because the spring one is restricting my water flow. I think. Thanks for the replies. ????

I have a spring non-return valve also fitted directly after the meter, doesn't seem to affect my water flow, I prefer them to a flap valve as I have experienced in past that sometimes flap valves (as I like to call them) do not close sufficiently if water pressure is low, relying only on a weight & pressure, if the town water is off, I don't want to supply the town with my tank reserve. sencelebi
It's called check valve. I replaced mine with 1 inch valve on the 3/4 inch pipe with fittings. I recommend you to do same thing if you worry about low water flow.

Yes the spring check valve is probably the best for your setup, but my low pressure aquaponics system(45w pump) probably needs a Swing valve. I have a spring valve and replacing it. I just wanted to know the correct name which differentiates it from those springy thinggys.
