Thai tourism survey: Chinese want to visit Thailand but waiting for vax rollout and end of quarantine - then some!

Ha!! Yes, China causes a global pandemic that was not prevented by the one entity that needed to prevent it (WHO), and now they want to travel around the world again.
I'm afraid that tourism will not be the same for a very very long time. New mutations such as the Indian variant as suspected to be more resistant against vaccines, and the Brazilian variant is killing more younger people and babies. This pandemic hasn't even gotten into full swing yet. More infections mean more mutations.

Makes sense. Shame the TAT don't/can't get their heads around this.

I am still wondering when the 6 million Brits are arriving this year!

There has never ever been 6 million Brits visit in one year maybe over a five year period

I really don't understand Thailand's logic throughout this entire fiasco. When the virus first emerged, we knew barely nothing about it apart from seeing images out of China where people were fainting and or dying in the streets, along with overcrowded hospitals. During this phase where we could have been dealing with something very serious indeed, Thailand kept everything open, allowing in 80,000 Wuhan residents throughout January and February, and only really started to take serious measures in April.
Then when we realise this virus (at the time) was only 3 times deadlier than the flu, they became super strict and crushed the Thai economy. Now there are more contagious variants, and potentially deadlier, vaccine resistant ones as of late, Thailand opens up again lol. It's as if they are doing the exact wrong thing at the exact wrong time.

The reason you don't understand their logic is that there isn't any

But the overwhelming majority are waiting for Thailand to vaccinate most of its people before making a decision, reported Manager.

Quarantine would need to end with more than a third saying even then they would wait SIX MONTHS before returning to Thailand.

Same the whole world over... hope Pipat is listening.

Wake up call for T.A.T. with all their outrageous tourist arrival predictions. So the golden goose of Chinese tourists won't be coming in their hoards after all, what a shame, NOT... Can't wait to see the next spin doctor news from T.A.T. as to how they are going to turn things around... Govt should hand out some P45's and cut their lavish budget in half...

The Chinese won’t be going anywhere while their vaccines are only 50% effective.
They will probably need a booster every 3 months

You mean 15% of CP's vaccine. They are now a pharmaceutical company and anyway only about 15% or so are jabbed.

Dream, Hope wake up and smell coffee!  Guess nothing to do but allocate money on a useless Survey!

First the Chinese brainwashed citizens asking other countries to get vaccinated?  What they scared of majority if all are suppose to be vaccinated by the best of all vaccine the Sino which no one wants even for free by the Thais. Also if so good as noted why would one even need to be forced quarantine?

If you want to travel just do one of your anal swabs leaving and coming back!????

In order to make things easier it has been decided to sell Thailand to the Peoples republic of China therefore all future information can be trusted to be 100% accurate , transparent and irreversible. It's better this way as has been seen to work in HK already.

A survey conducted among people in China has revealed that Chinese tourists want to come back to Thailand

how big/how many people included in the survey 10-15 maybe ohhh sorry didn't read the detail, it says The survey indicated that 93% of Chinese people thus a total of approximately 1400000000x93% =  1.3 billion were part of the survey.... God have mercy ????????????????

I hope the Thai government wakes up and finally realizes that the majority of tourists will not come until the majority of people in Thailand are vaccinated.  Before this happens there will be more waves where many activities will be restricted just like now.  Tourists will not make plans to visit here if there is so much uncertainty.  What’s needed is get have the majority vaccinated and no quarantine required.  When that happens tourist will slowly start to return.  Unfortunately based on the current pace of the vaccine rollout it won’t happen until late in 2022.

The good news for the Thai tourism industry was that Thailand was number one on the list for places that the Chinese wanted to go to.

and back to TAT desires/wishes..... quantity over quality, regardless of the bad image the Chinese leave behind they still receive them with open arms and a wai

This is based on how people feel not on what they will do.

I can assure you that China will not allow their tourists to leave and come back shutting down the #2 economy on the planet.  And the people (their collective) feel the same way even if they don't state it outright.  There is a significant amount of shame for doing it.  For now, Chinese are perfectly happy staying home.

And this is one country out of how many now, 212?
