webfact
Picture: Manager A clear and simple message for the government came from a meeting held in Hua Hin attended by people in the tourism industry. Vaccinate everyone without delay or there might not be a tourist industry left. Speaking at the Chiva Som International Health Resort Karot Rotnasathian of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and chief of the spa association, called for vaccination now, reported Manager. Karot said that 22,350 people in tourism businesses and related staff need jabs as well as around 65,000 people on house registration documents in Hua Hin. Picture: Manager Thailand's vaccination rollout has been mired in delays and critics have leveled accusations of cronyism against the government. In Thai print media PM Prayuth Chan-ocha has defended his efforts saying one vaccine provider is not being favored over another. Many in Thailand have been dismayed by the fact that the main rollout of the vaccination has been delayed to June, notes Thaivisa. Meanwhile Radio Thai PK reported that 1,518 doses of Sinovac had been administered to health personnel and other frontline workers calling it the second phase of first jabs. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-04-21 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Popular Post grandpa
All those involved in front-line healthcare should be vaccinated first, then the vulnerable with pre-existing conditions, the elderly, teachers, etc, well before those money grabbing business people who don't give a tinker's cuss for anyone but themselves. Heal and protect the country and it's people first, then think of alternatives to tourism to sustain the country. Re-training programmes should already be in the pipeline.

ukrules
The tourist industry has gone, it will be back but they chose the slow route out of this so don't expect anything before about 2022.

Agree, we'll be swimming in vaccines in 2022. Thinking about it, they really missed their chance; an all out effort to vaccine everyone when it was low profile, rather than concentrating on submarines and stuff; still, hindsight, is a great thing.

No the next trick up their sleeve will be to claim that they are now producing covid safe condoms. No doubt they will be complimentary on entry to certain clubs for government ministers, police and other HISOs who are above reproach. OF course size xs naturally ???? This seems quite unreasonable to me. They have only had a 14 months to get the vaccination program organized. It’s the fault of the foreign drug companies. Surely nobody in Thailand could be to blame.
MrJ2U
Out of Samui, Phuket, and Pattaya Hua Hin is really the only place that has some feeling of things happening. I was booked for a High End hotel for Songkran and it abruptly closed because some staff and guests got Covid-19. Never saw it reported on the news though. Patong2021
Thailand cannot vaccinate anyone until it has access to effective vaccine. The Thais know that the Chinese product is next to useless but can only offer it to keep people from panicking. The reality is that Thailand will have to wait until it can manufacture its own AstaZeneca vaccine and until the EU, India, and USA have vaccinated their populations and allow their vaccine manufacturers to supply the world. Thailand like so many other countries screwed up big time and went into denial mode. 1
