Pattaya: 300,000 doses of vaccine assigned - but rollout isn’t until June

Thai media Manager made much of the fact that the Thai health authorities had assigned 300,000 doses of vaccine to people in Chonburi.

 

Many of the recipients will be people living in Pattaya's Bang Lamung district as part of the government's rollout to five main tourism areas. 

 

Deputy mayor Manot Nongyai said that preparations were underway to deliver 10,000 vaccinations a day so it would take one month.

For Pattaya many would be done at a sports stadium where protocols such as a 30 minute symptom check/wait after a jab would be followed to the letter.

 

There was just one catch to the boastful headline about Pattaya being "ready".

It would not start until June. 

 

Thailand has been widely criticized for its tardy rollout of vaccination compared to many other countries while the third wave of infections continues to spread, notes Thaivisa.

Why is there such a long wait before starting vaccination, if you have the vaccine in needs to be put in Arms ASAP...... or are you telling porkies and you haven't got any vaccine,  why doesn't this Government just come clean....

You almost answered your own question.  Supply/demand.  Everyone want's it and not enough to go around.  Should get better after the US/UK are mostly finished vaccinating and start exporting in two or three more months.  I think that is partly why they are talking about June/July and not sooner.

There are over 600,000 " residents " of Pattaya.

Does quite cut the Mustard does it.

Is this Vaccination site the same Sports Center that Hosts all the Cattle Shows Etc
