webfact
Cr. Indigo Asia Production By Jeerapa Suvanvitit Each year, Thailand welcomes hundreds of foreign film productions, including movies, documentaries, TV programmes, music videos and commercials. According to the tourism department’s director-general, Anant Wongbenjarat, in 2019, 740 international film crews generated almost 5 billion baht for the local economy. After the pandemic struck, however, those figures dropped dramatically. Last year just 176 foreign film productions came to Thailand, bringing in 1.73 billion baht. Despite the problems posed by the coronavirus, and the increase in competition from neighbouring countries, Thailand is still a top destination, in Southeast Asia, for international film productions. Thai PBS World spoke with an Australian commercial director and executive producer, to discover insider experiences and the pros and cons of shooting in Thailand. Excel
"After the pandemic struck, however, those figures dropped dramatically. Last year just 176 foreign film productions came to Thailand," Now that is odd because all those posters on here who claimed to work in the music industry in another thread saying that it is an expanding business and more and more are coming here, seems wide of the mark. That statement possibly puts the credibility of those posters into question, or else their knowledge is such they are not aware of the big picture. gunderhill
I'm sure that even if 90% of arriving companies were shot at the airport they would still say that the rest of the world flocks to Thailand, even to be shot on arrival.
