geovalin
As of yesterday, nearly 1.3 million people across the country have received at least their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine in Cambodia, according to the Ministry of Health. The ministry said it had inoculated 1,277,688 people, equal to around eight percent of the total population. Among them, 983,145 are civilians while 294,543 are from the military. The vaccines being used include Sinopharm, Sinovac and AstraZeneca. Cambodia has so far accrued 1.3 million doses of Sinopharm, two million doses of Sinovac and 324,000 doses of AstraZeneca. Ministry of Health spokeswoman and chairwoman of the Ad-hoc Commission for COVID-19 vaccination Or Vandine, via her social media, gave credit to health workers who are administering vaccines. “I am impressed by your sacrifices and commitment, although it means separation from your families, to participate in the cause of fighting COVID-19, which has been spreading and killing people around the world and recently also threatening Cambodia,” she said. “For joining in the cause, you have become the white-shirt army.” read more https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50843601/8-percent-of-the-population-vaccinated-in-two-months/

spidermike007
And a little over 1% in Thailand. You know when Cambodia and the PI beats you hands down, there is a major issue with leadership. Prayuth and Anutin have failed, hugely. Let's announce this, and may the people never forget this massive betrayal, in a time of a national emergency. This is just one of the reasons why Thailand needs real leadership, and not just a proxy leader. Perhaps it is not so much an issue of incompetency, as much as being very under qualified, with regard to the heads of every ministry, including the PM.
Sheryl
while only 8% of the total population, the vaccination drive (appropriately) prioritized Phnom Penh and other hard hit locations. I believe vast majority oif adults in PP have had at least the first injection. Unfortunately most of them with Sinovac so only partial protection and that, only starting about 2 weeks after second dose. Still, it does give high protection against serious disease so there is hope that in another few weeks the situation in PP will be under control.
