Popular Post webfact
BANGKOK, April 22 (TNA) – Pfizer is likely to deliver 10 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine but the arrival has yet to be scheduled, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Mr Anutin said the procurement was discussed smoothly with Pfizer on Thursday and its representative assured 10 million doses would be available for Thailand but a delivery date had not been concluded yet. The government then asked the company to work out the schedule, price and relevant conditions of the vaccine as soon as possible. He really should have learned to keep his mouth shut by now on this whole vaccine debacle should the Minister for Chaos .. everyday Thailand is lagging further behind in the requirement to vaccinate their population .. but again here he is making grand claims with little or no substance .. the longer this fiddling while Rome burns continues the longer the country will take to reopen to the foreign visitors that many ordinary Thai's rely on returning for their living .. Thai's deserve better than having this buffoon in charge of such an important issue .. 12

Quite pathetic for a nation which plans to go to the moon, isn't it? Despite BioNTech and it's partner Pfizer reduced the cooling requirements in the meantime, even -70°C is not overly difficult. I wrote on Thaivisa 6 months ago already that cheap dry ice for food storage has a temperature of -79°C, and liquid Nitrogen, a common cooling medium which is cheaper than beer, has -192°C. Now as Anutins pants are on fire, cold storage of the Pfizer vaccine suddenly is no issue anymore. ????

Jeffr2
It's very possible Pfizer jabs will be available this year. The US is close to 50% of the population with one jab, and almost 30% with 2. Now, many places are seeing reduced demand. Mainly in the "bible" belt. So there might be a big supply available shortly. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2021/01/28/960901166/how-is-the-covid-19-vaccination-campaign-going-in-your-state

mtls2005
Price shouldn't be a concern, just cut the PO now. I mean was there any hestiancy placing the order for the submarine? Then start working the delivery date(s). Longer-term Thailand should consider setting an mRNA-vaccine production facility; it might take a year or more but it will probably become necessary in the future. There will also be a disclaimer issued, in light of all the claims of various other Vaccines having serious side effects. Pfizer will carry no responsibility what so ever, after the Drugs have been delivered. The onus will be on the purchaser to store, handle, and administer the Drugs as detailed.
