Thailand says to add ICU beds after reporting record COVID-19 tally

Wake up Thailand, YOU DO NOT want to start getting like, nearby India, or distant Brazil.

It may be a plan to stock up on oxygen, and other emergency supplies.  Those variants

are already there and more are likely on the way. Maybe the 3rd wave will not be too big,

but then there is still the 4th and 5th waves to look forward to. Or like in the ocean the 9th wave may be a doozy.

Geezer

Except that India set up vaccine production a long time ago.

However, I would expect the government to do a better job of organizing vaccinations in Thailand, once large quantities of vaccine are available.

On second thought: Thailand has already vaccinated 1,000,000 people, so why aren’t all health care workers vaccinated already?

They have been Deceitful about all Covid related numbers so far...why do you expect them to now be honest about the number of people vaccinated...how would we know if this number is true or not? Based on past experience I doubt anyone trusts this number either.

Maybe changing that policy would help with the bed shortage....

They may have no option soon with the exponential, and predictable rise in victims. As much as it may appeal to the military politicians to have total control over the population by confining them to field camps,  if it ever reaches the proportions being seen elsewhere they will have no option but to adopt policies of other countries as much as that may be distasteful to the "know it all" General  and his master

There is a safe and effective solution that these physicians swear by.

lvermectin has saved many people suffering with Covid. Go view the medical professionals testaments from around the globe at FLCCC. Its inexpensive and easily available for several decades. Ask your GP for more information.

Ok they test negative to find their way back home to become positive. Send them home and let them wait it out. If their symptoms get worst, then move them to hospital. It’s rainy season, most of them have flu symptoms.

Work on getting vaccine for the country now that you found out vaccinating the government and rich blow over is NOT the end of this pandemic.

For some good news: The 90 day online reporting system appears to be working. Just checked a couple of minutes ago.

Good to hear....finally.

Did mine yesterday when picking up my 1yr extension stamp,  which was 4 days after the "due date" but inside the 7 day window.

In and out in 5 mins.

Totally agree.

Same with vitamin D3 (free from sunshine ) or pills orally.

But strangely,  virtually no large medical trials conducted globally.

Pharmaceutical  companies don't want to know about cheap over the counter treatments or (possibly) preventive drugs/treatments.

This is 100 years of military coups, corruption and an appalling education system coming to roost.

vote-buying ensures that the most capable never get into positions of power - only the stupid.

Armageddon is on the way.

Terrible!

One week, probably less than that.  Hopefully won't end up like India and Brazil with no Oxygen.  Cancel the damned submarines and buy what the country needs now.  Remember there were no masks or hand sanitizer for 6 months at the beginning of the pandemic yet we still have the same greedy Chinese loving idiots calling the shots!

Thailand bashing is not helpful at all in this situation. - Especially since Thailand did a lot to get ready in the past 12 month.

Let me give you some inside views.

ICU rooms are special.  - This is not about having a bed and some equipment thrown in a room, and its done. - Not at all.

  • It already stats with the special power system, which needs to be ungrounded acc. to IEC60634-7-710 (or in Thailand: TISI 2433-2555). Most Thai hospitals have this already in their ICUs. There are only a few specialists in Thailand who are able to do that properly (Actually our distributor company and I, only. - But even I'd like to help to - my work permit doesnt allows me to do. I am just allowed to manage such business (I am a region  manager for APAC. - But that is another story.)  ????
  • A lot of new ICUs have been build last year.
  • Medical staff in ICU rooms need a special training as well, they also need to be trained how to react in case of power failures are signalized.
  • For COVID ICUs special air-conditioning is usually required to. such rooms should have a lower air pressure than outside. This part needs the most time to be setup. Since here are also specialists required.

A said before Thailand has set up a lot of new ICUs during the last year already. In the neighbor countries that was pretty much less.

So please stop bashing Thai government. They did a lot, behind the scenes.

Where they have to improve, is how they handle such businesses that support such critical infrastructure. Here we really have to blame them.

To give you an example: Our distributor had to go for PCR tests to be able to travel in the province and do coand mmisioning for new COVID ICUs.

Government hospital, but the company who does that has to pay for all the tests, and is endangered to stuck there in case of travel restrictions are announced, as we had last year.

Here is really a need to issue special licenses to such critical infrastructure providers. E.g. in Singapore they did that, since government is aware that they urgently need such guys working.

Can you quantify "a lot"?

I mean it does sound impressive, but also, maybe a little bit vague.

But the health minister said that the Covid situation will normalize in 2-3 weeks, why the need to add more ICU beds?

And this is after he stated last Year that Thailand had the 5Th best Health Facilities in the World, and that any further outbreaks would be dealt with quickly.

Well its not enough is it, they've nearly run out and with over 2,800 new cases today there's going to be a large shortage within days

Your a drunkin fool!

No I'm not. The sun may be over the yardarm for some but not for me.

So, tell me what is foolish here:

1 ) Sweating it out in a third world backwater that doesn't even care to vaccinate their own, or

2 ) Going back to your homeland where you can get vaccinated quite quickly?

The consequences of lockdown outweighs C-19 who has a degree of recovery near to 97%.

its a deliberate excuse to execute world elite orders.

the number of these stand at around 400 to 450 people.

think what you may but one thing is for sure; the world will never go back to pre March 2020.

don’t take my word for it, wait and see.

That's your opinion.  Medical experts and scientists disagree with you.  And the recovery rate is not 97%.  Especially when you factor in long covid and all the under reported cases.  Of which there are many.

Execute world elite orders?  What are you smoking?

Just like 9/11, we'll never go back to pre-March 2020.  This virus will be with us for the rest of our lives.

Also there acting like a few cases here a few there.  Yesterday Prime Minister of the Junta says"not to worry, we have it under control".  Everything is lies.  There not ready and never will be.  There are no Emergency beds available or extra Oxygen they will be needing.  Anutins useless herbal treatments owned by some very important person making no impact on the virus.
