White water pipe.

We have a water leak somewhere in the house and

called the MWA (water authority) and they sent a team and couldn't find it. We got an official MWA receipt when we paid for the survey.

They suggest we use cut out some of the original water pipe and redirect new.

Asked which type of pipe they showed a white pipe with thick walls which needs gluing.

I've only ever seen here:

Blue pipe which is pretty standard and glued.

Green pipe that requires a welding machine.

Black pipe that doesn't need glue and comes in long rolls

Has anyone saw white water pipe and any experience with it?

Thanks for any feedback.

2 questions for you

1) how do you know what to cut out if they couldn't find the leak

2) are you connecting into white pipe, if so the you need to use the same grade

Glue is the standard method of connecting water pipes in Thailand.

I must admit I've never come across white pipe in 15 years in my locality, all water pipes are blue.

I don't understand why they suggested white piping.  The convention is blue for potable water, white for grey or irrigation water and yellow for electrical conduits.

Stick with blue and you'll be fine. I did our whole house in blue when we renovated.

A note about making the joints. Make sure both parts are clean and apply plenty of glue. Then leave the joints for at least half an hour before switching the water on again. Many a good joint has been ruined by turning the water on too early.

Also flush the system through before you connect up things like taps and showers. I ruined a really expensive tap by forgetting about that!

White PVC generally available is for electrical use and is not available in thick walled versions.
There is a composite white pipe (it’s in coils) available in some of the big chains Global House, DoHome, Thai Watsadu, etc. It is joined by crimping.

White water pipe is in fact sold by SCG.  It is a good product in my opinion.

It certainly could be. However it is not generally available.

No store that I have visited has it in stock.

as I said the only generally available white pipe is electrical use pipe
