The University of Puthisastra (UP) has become the first university in Cambodia to be listed in The Times Higher Education Global Impact Ranking Tables ranked in the Top 101-200 in the World for “Decent Work and Economic Growth” out of 685 institutions worldwide. The Times Higher Education Ranking, released on April 21, is regarded as the world’s top-ranking system that assesses universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming to provide comprehensive and balanced comparison across research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.

The 2021 Impact Rankings is the third edition and the overall ranking includes 1,115 universities from 94 countries or regions, including Cambodia this time. Ian Findlay, UP president and vice-chancellor, said he is so excited and proud that a Cambodian university has been recognised in the very prestigious Times Education World Rankings for the first time.

“These rankings are used all over the world to assess educational quality and impact to society by students, academics and many organisations. It will help attract students, skilled academics, research as well as funding to build Cambodia’s potential and future. UP and Cambodia have arrived on the world stage,” he said.
