You can say about these idiots what you want, but not that they lack unbridled optimism, OTP enthusiasm and - perhaps more importantly - boundless delusion. Hello, Mr. Somchai, we are almost halfway through this year, with the pandemic not showing any signs of abating. You ARE aware of that, right? Japan number 1, the rest seem to be in no specific order. I suspect this because there was another article last year which mentioned the very large number of people from some European countries coming in closer to the top. madmitch
Do these Government sponsored operations actually do any business planning or is everything announced on a whim to satisfy their "bosses"? Perhaps they visit the local fortune teller.
Orient Express
They just don't get it. Offer a 5-year Elite visa for 300k baht or a 10-year for 500k baht (without limousine transfers etc) and watch the take-up. There is a sweet spot where many would switch over from retirement extensions, for example, to avoid the hassle.

Poet
That this company, Thailand Privilege Card, has supposedly never managed to turn a profit, despite selling bits of paper for tens of thousands of dollars to 13,564 suckers, tells you all you need to know about business in Thailand. How to score instant riches for Thailand Privilege Card and a huge increase in the number of monied visitors to Thailand: Unlimited one-month extensions of any visa or visa waiver for a straight 10K THB per month, payable at any 7-11 or online. Everyone would grumble, and swear they would never pay it, but, once they actually figure out the cost of the flights and hotels for their visa run, they will quietly go and pay it. It would soon become an accepted "tax" of around $10 per day that huge numbers of digital nomads, remote workers, trust-funders, the crypto wealthy, and other long-stayers under the age of 50 would pay every month. Over 5 years, that 10K THB per month would work out exactly the same as the 600K for five years, but by reducing the upfront commitment you would massively expand the market. Seriously, by making it simple and monthly, you could easily hit levels above one million paying this every month, giving a massive boost to the Thai economy.
