Will be the AZ produced by Siam bioscience which I not much trust. And AZ has only 63% protection and is less effective even with the new variants, UK included. Also they only will start in June so prity sure foreigners will be maybe August-Seprember

For me if Pfizer, Moderna which are both over 90% or even J&J over 70% and that one already proven that UK variant works then I'll just go and pay for any of these

Acc to WHO AZ protection is 82%. J&J is less than 70%.

No vaccine of any sort is 100%. You can get hepatitis despite vaccination. People suffer infections after 2 Pfizer or Moderna jabs. Just google it.

Anyone taking bets on how long before the czar contradicts / reverses this?   Sorry, but until I get a needle in my arm (twice) I'm not believing anything that comes out of this government.

I hope it is not mandatory.

Good on you Thailand.  I was tired if reading all the Thai bashing paranoid foreigners' posts.

"to a LINE account called หมอพร้อม (MawPrawm = "Dr. Ready")." This is not the correct translation. The correct LINE account is "Mor Prom"

There has been many posts that state that the registration starts on 1st June. This is incorrect, the registrations start on 1st May with the injections starting in June.

AstraZeneca is the vaccine that is listed for over 50's and the Thai version is due to be released in June.

Sinavac is for use for under 50's

A shipment of Pfizer has been purchased but it has not arrived yet with a further shipment to follow.

The vaccine is FREE to all people that LIVE in Thailand, I am not sure about those on Tourist Visa's.

There is no Line account appearing as Mor Prom in a search on the Line app

I have searched: LINE, Google, Google Play Store for the Dr Ready (Mor Prom) app this morning 1st May when the government claimed it would be ready for the vaccine registration and there is no sign of it anywhere yet

I will not be told that I have no choice of what vaccine I am given, so will not be registering on sny government app or website. There is not one Chinese vaccine that has published stage 3 trial results or has been approved by the WHO as safe and effective. Even Chinese specialists have said their product is inferior, but I guess thay are now having the attitudes adjusted! The Thai authorities are using the population as an experimental playground and anyone who takes part is foolish in the extreme. Only when a fully approved vaccine is available will I participate and I will do so at my own expense.

I'm working on it.

We might have to wait for my niece to wake up, she installed it for me last night. She's home today.

In the mean time she left some clues, Google Play Store was open and she left the keyboard set to Thai. I suspect you need to search the Play Store for Maw Phrom in Thai.

Well it probably would crash due to the numbers using it or not work at all even if it were there!

Not line then, I installed the play store app with Thai, has a rating of 2.8 at present! cannot see anything about registering

Not surprised by this... why any of you thought you would get to choose is beyond me...  Not suspicious at all that it followed a meeting...

People cannot choose which Covid-19 vaccine they receive, says Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul amid mounting concern over side-effects of shots being administered in the country.

The minister gave an interview to the press after meeting representatives of Sinopharm, a Chinese Covid-19 vaccine producer, on Friday.

It’s pretty obvious that Sinovac will be for the plebeians, and AZ for the patricians. Maybe they will buy some North Korean concoction for the Farangs.

That seems to be the problem. The registration part of the app is not there. So rabas needs to see if he has the section for registration or not.

That might be the mistake she mentioned last night.

It is well known that Sinovac is unsuitable of over 60's and therefore it is not used for them in every country in the world. The main vaccine used for over 60's is AstraZenica and the Thai production of that will be ready in June when those that are over 60 who have registered will start to get vaccinated.

You might want to check on your assertion that Sinovac cannot be used for those over the age of 60.

It's RESIDENTS ONLY.  If you do not possess a Thai ID, you are not eligible.  You can only go the private route, which at the moment the hospitals have yet to receive any stocks of vaccine.

If you possess a Thai ID, like me, you are not "resident" your status is "permanent resident"  with the residency blue book. This concern all "residents" means permanent residents like you and temporary residents with a work permit or any type of visa allowing them to reside in the Kingdom.

If you are registered at a Thai govt hospital with your pink card (i am at Chonburi as a heart patient) do you think we will be called in for the jab?

https://thethaiger.com/coronavirus/thai-fda-approves-sinovac-vaccine-13-provinces-to-get-the-first-doses

The first phase of Covid-19 immunisation plan in Thailand is ready to roll out with ... with the first 200,000 doses of China's Sinovac vaccine set to arrive tomorrow. ... said the vaccine shouldn't be administered to people over the age of 60

The Health Minister received Sinovac because he is under 60 but the PM received AstraZenica because he is over 60.

So, you think this of all pronouncements by the government is the final word? Remember that they earlier claimed that vaccinations were only valid for 90 days. As clinical evidence is made available, decisions change, especially if the decision makes it easier for the officials. In this case, clinical studies are showing that Sinovac is safe for the elderly, so expect this decision to change - especially given the cheap price and abundance of Sinovac compared to AZ.

“blue book”, is that the house book? Does that make you a permanent resident eligible for the jab?

Your not a permanent resident per say. We are long term stayers and subject to the whims of the government unfortunately and why a plan b is needed always. Hate to walk away from the many millions invested between a condo, car and motorbike, but in the end I have prepared for the eventuality.
