Thailand's Immigration Bureau chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang visited premises in Bangkok that had been used to house migrant detainees after Covid-19 outbreaks in detention centers in the capital.

All these have now been transferred after recovering and will be deported. The detainees were hundreds of illegals who were in the process of being deported before the clusters came to light in March, reported Naew Na

The premises will now reopen as a field hospital for police with Covid and members of the general public who have tested positive.

Thailand's policy is to admit anyone who tests positive for the virus.

A major cleaning operation is underway and other protocols are being followed ahead of the re-opening on May 5th, this Wednesday.
