Almost 1000 new cases for Cambodia as total rises above 16,000

The “Black Week” continued for Cambodia as the Ministry of Health announced 938 new COVID cases  – the highest day to date – this morning, bringing the tally to 16,299. In addition, 1 new death was announced, bringing the total to 107 direct deaths from COVID.

All the cases are connected to the February 20th Community Event which has now accrued 15,744 cases

 

Cases were  detected in 12 provinces as well as the capital, Phnom Penh which saw a record 608 new cases.

Other provincial totals were:

175 in Kandal province

77 in Preah Sihanouk province

51 in Banteay Meanchey province

 

In addition, there were cases recorded in Kampong Speu, Takeo, Kampong Cham, Thbong Khmum, Svay Rieng, Pursat, Battambang, and Siem Reap.
