Popular Post webfact
Picture: Sanook The chief of the Private Hospital Association of Thailand has said that the Moderna vaccine against Covid-19 will definitely be available in his members' hospitals. But Sanook in a buoyant article saying that there was now "more choice" in Thailand did not say when. Furthermore the chief of the PHA said that people would still need to register online for the jab, something that many expats are confused about or have had problems in doing, notes Thaivisa. It remains to be seen that if paying for a jab rather than getting a free one will aid in registration. Chalerm Hanphanich explained that private hospitals will be able to offer the Moderna vaccine via an arrangement with the Government Pharmaceutical Organisation who will get it from importers who will register with the Thai Food and Drug Administration. The bottom line is that the jab will cost $37 - $38 (about 1,150) baht to import before tax. He said that his members had agreed not to charge more than 2,000 baht per jab. People will need two. Each hospital will consider their own charges for giving the jab and a charge for insurance in case of adverse reactions needed to be levied on the first dose. Even so, he expected that PHA member hospitals would charge a total of 3,000 baht to administer the complete two dose set. However, people wanting the Moderna jab would still have to register on "Mor Prom" as data must be collected. He advised that for many people going down the state vaccination route may be better as it would be quicker (and of course free for Thais). Sanook gave no indication of the timeframe for Moderna though added that the Sinopharm jab from China remained an option being considered. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-05-06 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 2 2 4

Popular Post fondue zoo
So the government is engaging with private entities to import the product which they will onsell to the private hospitals. Which would imply that Moderna has no issue dealing with private enterprise. More choice is good if this happens as stated. Popular Post John Drake
This is what my physician told me, too. He said also that J&J would be available. Both in June. But that was before all the announcements and threats from the government. I didn't actually think it was still good to go. 4 2

Popular Post tingtong
Considering that for foreigners a covid test cost 3500-8000 thb at a private hospital, the proposed price seems reasonable. ( Although from experience I would wait when they announce the actual farang price, since most expats won't be able to currently register in the system without pink ID) 6 2 1

' Anit that the truth and this latest announcement just adds to it as it does not say when or how to register. Is it enough to be on a private waiting list as so many already are, or do we have to go through their problematic app? if it's the app how do we do it with no pink Id card? 1

They are are allowing them to import it in. Why would Moderna have an issue dealing with private enterprise? They are a private company. They will sell to anyone with cash. Of course, when it will be available is a different story. Tier 1 countries pre-ordered most of their supply. 3

Popular Post mtls2005
3,000 ~ 4,000 is a lot less than I was expecting (6,500 - 10,000 all in). Again price is less of an issue, for me (and most I imagine). It''s more about availability. 13

I'll pay the $100-$200 for my vaccine jab in Thailand (where there are none of those taxes for most expats), while you lucky ones enjoy "free" vaccines in the U.S., UK, and elsewhere.
