If expats have to register then fix the system to accept passport details.

All of us in this situation, should contact our Embassies to impress this on them. I have done so. Weight of responses may require them doing something and/or making their displeasure if their pressure is getting nowhere

I have done so. Standard response, but even so, the more who do this the better. It can't hurt.

Yes...and if they are successful in vaccinating Thais, who make up 90%+ of the population, isn't "herd immunity" achieved? So why do foreigners even need to be vaccinated anyway (unless they want to travel abroad or are in a very high risk group).

Exactly. I am not so concerned about the vaccine more about a piece of paper that could possibly help me get back into Thailand.

At last update from the government, the Thai FDA has yet to sign off on use of the Moderna vaccine in Thailand, though that is in process. See below:

Keeping my fingers ???? for CureVac's mRNA vaccine.

They said it would be quicker to wait for the government shot.

So that will be after the vaccination of 65 million Thais.

The misinformation comes fast and furious.

Thailand like other countries, does not have a vaccine that is approved for those under 16.

I believe you are correct.  That being the case, instead of saying everyone needs to register, they should state that the Nor Prom site is for Thai's only and that registration for foreigners will be required in the future and that a separate app or procedure for foreigners will be announced as soon as it is finalized.  The way it is currently released people including myself think well if I am required, there must be some way to do it.

They have said on several occasions that foreigners will be dealt with in due course, the forum would rather ignore that and shout the odds.

You have to bear in mind any announcement will have been in Thai and translated and should never be taken word for word.

They're talking about a future/new EN language mobile app specifically for foreign nationals that would be similar to Mor Prom.

Just talking about it or actually working on one?

I think the one they are going to produce is only recommended for the elderly 60 yrs plus in many countries, and banned in Denmark.

The bottom line is that the jab will cost $37 - $38 (about 1,150) baht to import before tax.

One would think that with the current situation, the government would forego any tax on covid vaccines.

You have to have a Thai ID....pink thingy thing is no good.......those that have managed to registered with the pink thingy thing have been told not to report for their appointment.

The government is working on/considering a separate Mor Prom like mobile app specifically for registering foreign nationals for the government's own AZ vaccine program.

Working on one.... not released / made available yet... But the actual vaccine availability for foreign nationals under the govt vaccine program isn't supposed to start until June anyway...

Taken seriously from one day to the next, or believed at all depending on who said it, where and what day of the week it is. This has been a utter s show so far and there is little point taking any more official announcements too seriously as it will likely be something else tomorrow.

Time to liquidate my assets and move to country less insistent on making me pay for something which is free throughout the world. I’m tired of being looked upon as being a “Dirty Farang.” There are better places than this to live.

Regardless what happens with the Moderna vaccine/private hospitals route, foreign nationals in Thailand still should be able to receive the locally produced AZ vaccine from the government starting in June or thereafter...

So if the private hospital/Moderna route actually comes to pass, you might well have two choices -- free or paid.

Phase 1 trial? Expect to wait another 6 months at least.

That would still make it available long, long before most Thais have had their jab. I remember reading that they won't complete the second jab until the third quarter of next year.

Six months+1 day: on sale from your nearest Sukhumvit stall, alongside 'viagra' etc

It remains to be seen that if paying for a jab rather than getting a free one will aid in registration.

For sure it will  .

There's Money to be made .

Wait and see ,the price might go up yet knowing how things Changes here.
