I'm an aircraft mechanic.

If you are an AME then you know the operating conditions for cars on the highway and aircraft in flight are very different.

No stop-start in aircraft. Besides takeoff and climb the engine operates at a constant RPM.

This is so obvious that it calls your credibility into question

689 baht today at cockpit semi synthetic, same as 2 years ago. They still give you a small extra bottle, what for I have no idea, still got the last one to throw away. This time they put 7k kilo to next change, always been 5k before.

2009 Nissan Navara, 6 ltrs of full synthetic oil and a new filter, check for leaks, uni joints, exhaust, wheel bearings and a good look around, 1200 baht at the local Tyre workshop.

Been changing the oil and filter every 7,000 km over the past couple of years and at 170,000 km the oil is fairly clean when drained. Between that and taking the EGR out of the equation the motor should last awhile longer.

You Americans !! $25, that would be a rubbish filter with oil good for 4,000 miles if that.

They would not lift your bonnet for less than $10 let alone change the filter, properly drain the old & refill

It's a way to get you in the door for perhaps more work done.
