SAMUT PRAKAN (NNT) - The Minister of Labour inspected a proactive COVID-19 test mission at a metal factory in Samut Prakan today, as the government revs up its measures to contain the spread.

On-site proactive COVID-10 testing was provided at the Thai Metal Aluminum Company Limited in Samut Prakan, using mobile swabbing trucks and kiosks to collect specimens from employees.

490 people are employed at this company - so far 410 of them have been swabbed in the COVID-19 tests undertaken today. Any person testing positive will be admitted for treatment according to the Ministry of Public Health’s protocols. Results from the tests will be available 24-48 hours afterwards.

Inspecting the proactive mission, the Minister of Labour Suchat Chomklin said today the government will be providing more on-site testing at workplaces in dark-red provinces with a high number of cases, including Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Chonburi, Rayong, Samut Sakhon, and Ayutthaya.

This proactive testing service is provided by Samut Prakan Provincial Social Security Office and partner hospitals in the province, free of charge for the employees.
