PHUKET: Phuket Immigration officers have warned foreigners that all people in Phuket should wear face masks in public places, including both Thai and foreign residents alike. The warning comes after a foreigner was charged for riding his motorcycle without a helmet and also received a warning from police for not wearing a mask.

Private hospitals will charge for COVID-19 vaccine shots at a standard price

Air travel is estimated to drop by 38% in 2021

BANGKOK (NNT) - Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (Aerothai) has lowered its estimates of total domestic and international air travel in 2021 to 323,093 flights, a 38% reduction from its 518,790 flights estimate at the start of the year.

Thailand: COVID-19 insurance claims estimated at US$16m as of end-April

The total amount of COVID-19 insurance claims since the pandemic-related policies were launched in March 2020 are estimated to have reached THB500m ($16m) as of the end of April, according to Anon Vangvasu, president of Thai General Insurance Association.

German-born American architect Helmut Jahn, known for his postmodern steel-and-glass structures, has died aged 81 in Illinois after being hit by two vehicles while he was riding his bicycle, police said.

Two rare wildlife species sighted in Doi Inthanon national park

Goral (Naemothedus) and serow (Caprycomis Sumatraensis), two endangered wildlife species, only seen on steep mountain cliffs, have recently been separately spotted by Thai park rangers on the Kew Mae Pan natural jungle trail in the Don Inthanon national park, in Chom Thong district of Thailand’s northern province of Chiang Mai.
