I would think 1,893 cases found from midnight to midnight yesterday and reported today.

The reason I ask is because what I think might be happening is say you get tested on Monday the result comes back on Tuesday then you do a confirmation test say Tuesday/Wednesday and the result of that test  Wednesday/Thursday depending upon what time the test result is known it could end up in the results reported on Thursday/Friday?I have never seen the numbers referred to anything but the reported number of cases with no mention of when the tests actually took place. This is where the lack of transparency seems to come into effect.

That is a question I also posed.  Wonder when a study of such will be made public, possibly still being peer reviewed and verified before publication.  An issue that can be posed would also be those infected after vaccination and which vaccine was given.  Of course there are so many variables that can affect this as well.

COVID-19 vaccine breakthrough infections reported to CDC as of April 26

As of April 26, 2021, more than 95 million people in the United States had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. During the same time, CDC received reports of vaccine breakthrough infections from 46 U.S. states and territories.

Total number of vaccine breakthrough infections reported to CDC
Total number of vaccine breakthrough infections reported to CDC 9,245
Females 5,827 (63%)
People aged ≥60 years 4,245 (45%)
Asymptomatic infections 2,525 (27%)
Hospitalizations* 835 (9%)
Deaths† 132 (1%)

*241 (29%) of the 835 hospitalizations were reported as asymptomatic or not related to COVID-19.
†20 (15%) of the 132 fatal cases were reported as asymptomatic or not related to COVID-19.

For a "rough" comparison on case fatality, the UK is now reporting zero deaths despite having a higher daily positive case count than Thailand

Statistical numbers are never linear. They will go up or down over time. We can only  conclude that this virus is still prevailing and mutates  well in our society,  and unfortunately  people will be infected.

Countries who have inoculated more than 50% of their population with the vaccine  have seen a rise of positive Covid19 test results. It  still not a good feeling.

but I am sure progress will be made to control this virus.

the big question is how long will it takes to reach that level.

Yes but thats not the case in the example I made, the UK's death rate has trended down gradually to zero. Result of vaccines and the previous lockdowns

AI calls for urgent measures to prevent spread of Covid-19 in prisons

Amnesty International Thailand issued an open letter yesterday (11 May) to the Ministry of Justice and the President of the Supreme Court of Justice calling for urgent measures minimizing the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic in prisons across the country, as well as for unnecessary custody at all levels to be kept at a minimum.

Not so in the UK. Testing more than 1 million daily and new cases still falling.

Great work there, still mass testing as they should giving a much better picture of the true situation. I saw they even had the Brit Awards yesterday. No masks needed for audience or performers, everyone just had to have a negative test.

Anutin defends 14 per cent tax on vaccines imported by private hospitals

Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health is defending a 14 per cent tax imposed on private hospitals looking to bring in their own coronavirus vaccines.

“These are the normal fees for importing vaccines,” public health minister Anutin Charnvirakul said.

“It includes delivery and quality check and other taxes which have to be paid and there is no profit being made out of it,” he said.

The past week's trend for daily new COVID cases in Bangkok is shown on the second line below covering the period May 6-12, including the impact of increased outreach testing in the Bangkok region in recent days.

The first line is showing domestic cases nationwide for the same period, excluding few numbers of imported cases found from international traveler arrivals in quarantine.

The totals in the far right column for Bangkok and Thailand are COVID cases cumulatively from April 1 to current.

And the MoPH's daily charts on how Thailand is faring versus world countries and its regional peer countries ranked by total cumulative numbers of COVID cases. Thailand continues to rank 99th based on that measurement.

Something not quite right about these virtually flatlining figures, day after day.

I had the same thought, daily numbers are showing similar patterns, all around the 2,000 mark just over or just under, linked to possible limit in testing or a manipulation to not release the true numbers.

To combat the pandemic, Thailand has drastically curtailed its economic life blood of international tourism, shuttered all schools and bars, nightclubs and other entertainment venues nationwide, closed many types of public gathering spots in Bangkok and adjoining provinces, and imposed a nationwide face mask wearing policy.

All the while waiting for Prayuts chosen plan of waiting for ONE manufacturing company to start production !!!!
