Bkk Brian
As far as I'm aware there is no evidence that the the UK strain increases the fatality rate, at least not in the scientific studies where this strain has been prevalent. https://www.livescience.com/uk-coronavirus-variant-severity.html

The reason I ask is because what I think might be happening is say you get tested on Monday the result comes back on Tuesday then you do a confirmation test say Tuesday/Wednesday and the result of that test Wednesday/Thursday depending upon what time the test result is known it could end up in the results reported on Thursday/Friday?I have never seen the numbers referred to anything but the reported number of cases with no mention of when the tests actually took place. This is where the lack of transparency seems to come into effect. Popular Post ourmanflint
How can we show that Thailand is massaging its daily covid numbers? It's difficult but compared to its neighbour down south, the figures just do not make any sense at all. Malaysia with half the population of Thailand is reporting similar daily death rates and nearly double the case rates. How is this likely? What is Thailand doing to be so good at getting such steady daily case numbers? Well Malaysia does 30-40x the amount of tests Thailand does, so is Malaysia just massively richer and more successful than Thailand, that it can do this? Or does Thailand simply choose not to test, not because as some suggest they cannot afford it, but because it is the only way it can continue to pull the wool over the eyes of the general public? Malaysia also took the approach to only test clusters early on, it didn't work, and 3 of the worlds Variants of concern, are out in the wild in Malaysia. Quote The World Health Organisation (WHO) has identified four VOCs — namely the B.1.351 South African variant, the B.1.1.7 variant from the United Kingdom, the B.1.1.28 variant reported in Brazil and the B.1.617.1 double-mutation variant from India. According to Dr Noor Hisham, only the Brazil VOC has yet to be detected in the country. He also raised concerns that 80 per cent of new Covid-19 infections were now sporadic and no longer contained in clusters, necessitating the need for MCO 3.0. They will go up or down over time. We can only conclude that this virus is still prevailing and mutates well in our society, and unfortunately people will be infected. Countries who have inoculated more than 50% of their population with the vaccine have seen a rise of positive Covid19 test results. It still not a good feeling. but I am sure progress will be made to control this virus. the big question is how long will it takes to reach that level.
