The good times i experienced from 2005=2015 in all of thailands tourist places, packed and overflowing bars, ladies galore, live music,go go's etc were sensational.......never to be experienced again in my opinion.....good memories but tough on people looking for it now.

Bet you a slab of beer that when Pattaya does open this year or next that beach Rd will be back to 200 whores! Not swapping body fluids? So lonely punters are going to stay in their bedsit in some freezing corner of the globe paying for a tug, or are you referring to something else? When the online Soi 6 sites started up, I watched out of morbid curiosity. The HUGE number of punters from around the world was staggering! They were buying drinks in a shameful fashion. My son was one of them (from the US) so I went to visit the "girl of his dreams" in order to get a mere pic of her boobies. She would have nothing to do with it. Thankfully I got him to stop sending her money, but too many idiots still pour money into their fantasy web cams.

Phuket the more upscale, Koh Phangan the younger cooler crowd, Samui sort of in the middle, Hua Hin for the elderly and Pattaya for the lonely social misfits who have issues picking up girls without paying for various reasons and males from Muslim countries where it is nearly impossible to find casual sex. There will always be a percentage of mostly Issan girls who got themselves pregnant young and the father runs off and drug addicts, or just the plain lazy who are prepared to rent their genitals to the dribbling misfits. It ain't going to change, there will always be misfits and Muslims and there will always be these girls. Pattaya will bounce back. Where else are they all going to go? Those that wanted to stay on the game probably went to the Thai scene, and may never return. The switched on pretty ones were already on line before corona and they ain't, IMO, going back to sit in a grotty bar hoping some passing guy stays long enough to get interested. The rest probably went back to the village to survive, and by the time the scene is back they will probably be too old to succeed in Pattaya. It was always a temporary thing for most of them. I rarely saw the same girl from one year to the next. I'm sure some semblance of what was before will return, but IMO it won't be nearly as good- think Hua Hin- probably the worst place in LOS for the farang bar scene outside Chiang Mai which was so bad I didn't even bother.

You are so correct about that. Consider The Thailand Bureau of Epidemiology reported 131,157 dengue cases and 142 deaths in 2019. If they chose to record each case of dengue fever and showcase each death as it occurred the way they are with Coved we would have the following scene. People instead of masks would be wearing mosquito nets around our head to our necks. Electronic Zappers would be in short supply as would citronella and other insect repellants. Companies that sprayed for mosquitos would be unable to respond and the chemical companies would be making press releases each week touting the number of gallons of mosquito spray they shipped and announcing their plans to ramp up production to meet demand. I am not saying that Covid is not a serious issue but this second to second coverage of it has driven the world to a ridiculous level of paranoia for a disease that has only a 5% chance of requiring hospitalization and a 99.5% chance of recovery. They old saying in the news industry was "if it bleeds, it leads" That has certainly been the case with Covid as they see people interested in it so they publish more articles on it accelerating the cycle of fear. 7

In the USA only 59% of black males graduate with a high school diploma. By contrast the Asian population many entering the country as immigrants and not being able to speak English still thrive. They push themselves and their children to go to school, take difficult subjects, study, and receive advanced degrees. The result is that the Asian population not only does as well as the native Caucasian population it betters it. The Asian population has the highest college graduate, post graduate rate. Asians are also the highest earning ethnic group in the USA This is true. I have evidence to prove what was stated above. My partner is Vietnamese, came here in 1980, picked up the language by watching TV and now is making more money than me. Hardwork, education and resilience pays off in America.

Popular Post patsfangr
Thailand figures on COVID put Thailand at #98 of 228 countries in the world. Thailand: 88,907 Cases (.001% of 70 mil population!) 486 Deaths (7 per mil of population!) Is that worth the panic shutdown they're imposing? US is #1 in cases 10% of pop (much more testing!); .002% of pop death (vax in action!) UK is #7 in cases 6.5% of pop (much more testing); .002% of pop death (vax in action!) People are panicking, and allowing their economies to be destroyed, far beyond what is justified by the level of "death threat" presented by this very contagious FLU!

People are panicking, and allowing their economies to be destroyed, far beyond what is justified by the level of "death threat" presented by this very contagious FLU! To put a finer point on it: There have been 486 deaths in Thailand to date since the beginning of the pandemic. That's 486 fatalities in a country of 70 million people. Only 14% of Covid fatalities had no co-morbidities or underlying illnesses. (That's a total 68 otherwise-healthy people who have died from Covid in Thailand. Total.) Of those 68 people with no underlying illness, the median age was 65. (So that's just 34 otherwise-healthy people under the age of 65 who have died). Of the 34 otherwise-healthy people above 65 group, many were in their 90's. 1 person was even 100 years old. (Sorry, but a fart could probably kill a few of this group. And frankly, being aged 90+ should probably be classified as a comorbidity) Of the 34 fatalities among otherwise-healthy people under the age of 65, 46% of them were in Bangkok. (So that leaves JUST 16 otherwise-healthy people, under 65 that died outside of Bangkok) So the entire country, ex-Bangkok has been shut down and the economy destroyed for a disease that has claimed the lives of just 16 otherwise healthy people under the age of 65 -- over the course of 18 months. (How many people is that? It's 0.89 per month) Edited May 13, 2021 by Senechal 6
