Popular Post snoop1130
The opposition Move Forward Party is working on a bill, to be submitted to the House of Representatives, seeking to amend the Criminal Code to prevent law enforcement officers from distorting the law in a way which could benefit or cause damage to the accused or defendants. The proposed amendment seeks to heavily penalise law enforcement officers including police investigators, public prosecutors and judges if they are found to have abused their power and distorted laws. Move Forward MPs Rangsiman Rome and Woraphop Viriyarote told the media today (Wednesday) that their proposed amendment to Section 200 of the Criminal Code was modeled after the German criminal law pertaining to officials in justice process to prevent them from interpreting the law in a way which may distort the spirit of the law with an objective to maintain check and balance of the justice process. johng
I was surprised to read yesterday that student activists where on hunger strike in jail no mention of it here or from what l've seen on Thai TV ??? https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/student-leader-penguin-in-critical-condition-after-45-day-hunger-strike/ Quote Apart from Penguin, other activists still behind bars include Panupong “Mike” Jadnok, lawyer Arnon Nampa, singer Chaiamorn “Ammy” Kaewwiboonpan and Panusaya “Rung” Sithijirawattanakul, who five months ago was named an inspiring Thai female leader by the BBC. Panusaya has been on her own hunger strike for nearly a month now.

LazySlipper
It's about time... But as for law enforcement officers it should first make sure they actually know the law... Which they don't. I have first hand experience with officers making up their own law and siding with a Thai when it was the Thai who actually wronged me.
