Popular Post AlfHuy
● 2,052 new infections ● 2,835 prison / prison infections Why not just say 4,887 new infections. Wait: that's to fool the people. See, it's only 2,052, you are safe. The other ones don't count, you will never be in touch with them. TallGuyJohninBKK
Strange how Thailand could have such a major prison-based COVID outbreak now considering what happened back in early April in Narathiwat, and what the Corrections Department said they were doing at the time: April 4, 2021: Thailand’s prisons on COVID-19 red alert' The Corrections Department has suspended visits to prisoners and detainees in all prisons, from Monday until May 5th, after over 100 prisoners and prison officials in Narathiwat and Surat Thani provinces were found to be infected with COVID-19. The department has also imposed other measures to prevent the spread of the virus. No prisoners will be allowed to work outside their prisons, there will be no transfers between prisons, no outsiders are allowed entry to prisons and new prisoners will be isolated in separate cells for 14-21 days and be screened at least twice before they are to be moved out of isolation. Regarding prisoners or detainees who must appear in court, alternative measures are being worked out by the Corrections Department. (more) https://www.thaipbsworld.com/thailands-prisons-on-covid-19-red-alert/ So if all that was actually enforced, how did we end up with 2,835 COVID cases in the prisons today? Moderna is the first vaccine that private hospitals will be allowed to bring in as an ‘alternative vaccine’ to the government’s vaccination plans. I see already the HI-SO queuing up to get into prison. Instead of flying to the USA to get their vaccine, stay home, support your local community by joining the inmates and get herd immunity. Brilliant plan. The Czar should have thought about that. 1

anchadian
Jonathan Head Will embarrassment over the shocking levels of Covid infection prompt some overdue official action to reduce chronic overcrowding in Thailand’s jails? Read more: https://www.hrw.org/news/2021/05/13/thailand-covid-19-outbreaks-prisons Thailand: Covid-19 Outbreaks in Prisons (New York) – People held in Thailand’s overcrowded prisons and detention facilities are at grave risk from Covid-19 outbreaks, Human Rights Watch said today. The Thai authorities should immediately act to ensure that prisoners and detainees have access to adequate protective measures and health care. The authorities should swiftly reduce overcrowding by releasing people who do not pose a serious and concrete risk to others. On May 12, 2021, Thailand’s Corrections Department announced that 1,795 inmates in Bangkok Remand Prison and 1,040 in Central Women’s Correctional Institution had tested positive for the virus that causes Covid-19. In addition, hundreds of people detained in provincial prisons such as in Chiang Mai and Narathiwat have reportedly tested positive for the novel coronavirus. “The Thai government is obligated under international law to ensure that prisoners and detainees have adequate health protections and care, particularly during escalating Covid-19 outbreaks,” said Brad Adams, Asia director. “Besides providing health care and virus testing, the authorities should reduce the detainee population through supervised release of those held on politically motivated charges or for minor offenses, or who face greater risk from underlying health conditions.”

ikke1959
Today I think real figures, and they were happy that there was announced that there were 2835 from jail. So they could use that to explain the high numbers. But as I read yesterday these 2835 were not cases from 1 day but already over a longer time. So probably tomorrow business as usual with around 2000 cases

Popular Post brommers
We can all see how the figures are misleading and will continue yo be presented in such a way that it is impossible to get the true picture. There are hundreds in Chiang Mai prison who have not been included and probably the same in plenty more cities across the country. So getting uptight about what is really occurring is not the answer. I am only concerned about my ability to access a top quality vaccine at my expense, and until that happens it is just a matter of hunkering down. We are all on our own in this and must simply accept that.

This is why Vaccine Passports are total nonsense and any country saying vaccinated people do not need to quarantine are IDIOTS of the highest order. Complete stupidity.......its just those who got the vaccine now trying to say they are special and should get the red carpet......when scientific evidence says they can get and spread the virus.
