webfact
Picture: Naew Na Police in Songkhla in southern Thailand are searching for a 66 year old man called Adul or "Khiaw" believed responsible for the murder of a relative and neighbour in an adjoining house. Seventy four year old Prachuap was found with head wounds and defensive arm injuries in a ditch. She had been dragged about ten meters from the site of her murder in a water area that was 50 meters from their houses. Hair evidence proved the moving of the victim. The pair had been having a long running dispute over boundaries of their respective properties. Adul was seen in the local hills but is still being hunted. He has no other relatives, no phone, no vehicle and is thought to be hiding out. The son of the victim Chawaphon said he went to pick up his mother and father to take them to his sister's last Friday but his mum decided not to go. After they failed to be able to contact her for several days they decided to return and organize a search party that found the body after two hours. Naew Na featured a picture of a local official pointing at a field. A "miit phra" or large chopping knife or scythe is believed to be the murder weapon. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-05-14 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Gecko123
These are stressful times both economically and socially. Sad to see senior citizens involved in crime. I suspect pandemic related stress may be playing a significant role.

You will find that many Thais will have a different adjective to describe the people involved. I not say more because some would say is bias to refer to adjective word and that is not my intent. Unfortunately, some culture and set of social or religious belief have a greater acceptance of violence to women. Honour killings and other such horrors are common to these people too. Disagree, IMHO the violence is a general feature of the country and directed equally. It's just as likely to be a woman murdering her husband in the bath (last Thai news stabbing story), as a person murdering their neighbour over a minor dispute or a 'road rage' murder.
