Popular Post Jonathan Fairfield
Screenshot: Mr Natapanu Nopakun speaking during the COVID-19 briefing on Saturday May 15 Natapanu Nopakun, the Deputy Spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday revealed more information regarding the inoculation of expats in Thailand. Mr Natapanu said a registration system, similar to the Mor Prom platform used by Thai people to register for the vaccine, is currently being developed specifically for foreigners. However, he said that in principle, expats in Thailand will be able to receive the vaccine at one of the many walk-in centres that will be set up throughout the country. Mr Natapanu said that the walk-in centres that are operating currently are part of a soft opening or a “test run” for all walk-in centres. “For walk-in vaccination services, any provinces that are ready to provide the vaccines can commence operations immediately,” Mr Natapanu said. He also said that the vaccine rollout to the general public is likely to happen much sooner than earlier reported. This is because the supply of the vaccines is happening earlier than expected. Therefore, the walk-in program will officially begin next week, rather than in June as initially anticipated. This means that in principle, foreigners will be able to use the walk in vaccination services as soon as they are up and running and the locations are confirmed. Once an official announcement is made to signal the opening of the walk-in vaccine program, foreigners, in principle, will be able to use the walk-in service, Mr Natapanu said. Discussions are also underway to have separate walk-in centres for foreigners, which will be staffed by English speakers, in order to avoid any communication issues regarding vaccinations. However, it would be preferable that foreigners register for the vaccination using the mobile app, once it is available as this helps avoid overcrowding and is more efficient. Throughout Saturday’s English language briefing, Mr Natapanu spoke of the fluid nature of the situation and that information can change very quickly. He did however say that expats in Thailand can rest assured that they are in the government’s plans regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-05-15 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 2 4

Popular Post DirtyHarry55
Beware they now have millions of doses of Sinovac nobody wants. The Mor Prom registration system was a big flip flop coz of this. I want to take a vaccine but prefer one that's at least WHO approved and so far Sinovac isn't. This part is true. A number of people, mostly elderlies, in our village, have been informed that they will get a shot next week. It seems that it will be the Sinovac. I plan to monitor this operation closely...side effects and all... 16 3

Popular Post CLW
Yesterday just out of curiosity I was looking for the vaccination center at Central Lat Phrao that was mentioned in the press. Couldn't find any. I thought the location 3rd floor was a typo, so I looked at 5th floor at the BCC venue, closed. I mean something like this must be big. Is it closed already and was just opened for one day as a PR stunt? Or a misreporting mixed up Centara Hotel and Central Plaza? So many questions and everything clear as mud.... [EDIT] I did a google search and found out that those idiots from a certain newspaper that can not be named are obvioulsy not able to distinguish between Central Plaza Shopping Center and Centara Grand Hotel which are close together but two separate buildings. Because the vaccination venue is the Skyhall event room on the 3rd floor of Centara Hotel. Popular Post RichardColeman
With no tourists, Thailand should try looking after retirees better. I would imagine that the average age of retirees is at least 60. Based on that and average life expectancy of say a reasonable 85, that would mean 4% odd of retirees are dying each year. By easter next year , if they are still not open, near 10% of retirees would have died whilst the country is closed and not been replaced - that will have a knock on effect too. 4 5 2

Went there last week to renew my non O-A Was packed. At 8.30, ppl queuing up to the front door. Inside all full. People almost sitting next to each other. People walking around. Shame was, that a few foreigners thought they should have a phone call with mask down, when waiting inside building. Others just thought, they were at the beach. Walking around with slippers and shorts. Others, shouting at their Thai daughter (sorry) wife who was brought along to be the translator. 1 2 3

It's a pity contrary announcements don't kill covid. If they did we would all be as safe as houses. 2 1
