Popular Post NancyL
This was posted a few hours a ago on the Facebook of the COVID International Community Support Chiang Mai. Registration times at the indicated locations are today and tomorrow, 16 - 17 May from 9 am to 4 pm. In the comments section of their FB post, numerous foreigners indicate they were successful in registering at one of the locations. The FB post also shows the official Thai government announcement, complete with quibbling in the comments section about whether foreigners are specifically included in the original Thai announcement (they are). Edit: I should add, all that's needed if age 60 and over is your passport, if under age 60 you'll need doctor's certification that you have one of the listed pre-existing conditions which weren't spelled out in the English translation. Google should help you find those. Foreign nationals who are interested to receive COVID-19 vaccination but prefer not to register online may register in person with Public Health outreach teams at the following locations on 16-17 May:- Big C superstore Hang Dong (Mae Hia)- Makro (Chiang Mai branch)- Tesco Lotus (Kumtieng branch)This is for registration purposes only. You will be informed of vaccination appointment times at a later date. Take your Passport with you.(This is further to yesterday’s national level directives to accelerate COVID-19 vaccinations for all persons in Thailand) 2

But I do of course also see the various comments from foreigners who had success to register there. So it's possible to register, let's see if next week they make a 180 degree turn and announce that this wasn't meant for foreigners ???? If you are in a hurry to get vaccinated you might give it a try. Ian Wake
I applied for a walk in appointment at Bumrungrad and was informed that all vaccines were reserved (booked) already.. I filled a basic registration, sent it in and was informed within an hour that i would be provided an appointment time when they receive a new supply of vaccines, Here's hoping they receive them soon
ramrod711
Thank you Nancy, I'm a bit unsure as to what the best course of action may be. We live in a village, my wife is registered for the Astrazenecca vaccine already. A couple of people came to get her to sign a form today, they told her I could be vacciated as well if I showed my passport and I do have a yellow book as well. The problem is, I don't really want the Astrazenecca, although it must be better than nothing. I'm not sure I should hold out to October for Pfizer or Moderna. RobMuir
A big thankyou to the caring Thai people for looking after us foreigners. Let's see how the thaibashers spin this announcement into a negative.

brommers
Fascinating! A friend with a pink ID received an email from Chiang Mai Health on Saturday expressly telling him that there will be no vaccination provisions for foreigners in the next few months, but maybe in August they could register. It ended off by saying the best thing is to kerp in youch with his private clinic or hospital for details of what they are going to do. Could it be that no one has the faintest bl**dy idea what is going on!

I'm the same, prefer the Pfizer or Moderna. I just posted on another thread the adverse reactions that Eric Clapton had upon taking the AstraZeneca vaccine. Yes, he's just one person. But it does give pause.... [“My hands and feet were either frozen, numb or burning, and pretty much useless for two weeks,” guitarist writes of reaction to vaccine. “I feared I would never play again”] https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/eric-clapton-disastrous-vaccine-propaganda-1170264/ Edited May 17, 2021 by Berkshire
Mahseer
Marko on the highway Covid registration now open thu 19th if anyone is interested. It's in the food court. Was there this afternoon and very quite and out in less than 15 minutes. Fill in half a page with basic details and hand in with passport. No date given for appointment nor vaccine details. pgthompson
Sheep following the sheep, you do realize that a vaccine takes between 5 to 15 years to be developed with safe results, otherwise it's just an extended trial. 1

cardinalblue
Why the limitation of being there only to the 19th? The point is to get as many people as possible vaccinated? They are not selling discounted sneakers open one central place in CM to register indefinitely if their goal is to vaccinate numbers not selected informed people vs unaware foreigners which is the vast majority... this takes time to get the word out and people to respond...be customer friendly oriented

Greenside
I did mine yesterday and started an information thread in the Chiang Mai Forum which, if you limit yourself to the first page, has everything you need to know about registering at Makro on the superhighway including a form you can download to make it a quicker experience. https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1217437-vaccination-registration-at-makro-superhighway-well-organised-quick-and-successful/ Makro says they expect tomorrow (May 19th) to be the last day. sqwakvfr
For us Americans(I feel so special) the Consulate sends this "helpful" email about vaccinations in Northern Thailand: (Now the CM Covid Center has a new email address [email protected] at least it is now a gmail.com address. 'The FB page doe not mention anything about how or when a foreigner can register for the vaccine. U.S. citizens in northern Thailand can find more information about Thailand’s vaccination program and the COVID situation through the following sources. The Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office has a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Chiangmaidatacenter) with updates about the COVID-19 situation and vaccinations. This page is in Thai, but the translate function in Facebook provides a basic translation. See https://www.facebook.com/help/509936952489634?helpref=faq_content for more information about the Facebook translate function. U.S. citizens should also follow English-language updates from the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/thailandprd/) for updates. For questions about vaccine registration, U.S. citizens can contact the Chiang Mai COVID-19 Vaccine Center, which has English-speaking staff, by emailing [email protected]. Additionally, U.S. citizens can visit the COVID-19 Information page of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok for the latest information. Other resources include: · Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT): Updates available on their website (https://www.tatnews.org/category/thailand-tourism-updates/) or by calling the TAT Call Center at +66 2 250 5500 or 1672 from within Thailand. · Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Updates in English available on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/user/mfathailand). · Thai Government Public Relations Department: Updates on their website (https://thailand.prd.go.th/main.php?filename=index) and on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/thailandprd/). · Local media.
