The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is aiming to inoculate at least 500,000 people by the end of May, and as many as a million a month from June, said Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang today (Sunday).

The governor also inspected the capital’s vaccination facility at the Central Ladprao shopping mall today, where 850 public bus, electric train and boat drivers and 300 garbage collectors are to be inoculated against COVID-19.

The governor told the media that the BMA has made preparations to inoculate about 170,000 teachers under its supervision before the opening of the new school term, scheduled for June 1st and, in the next step, will vaccinate other people in the service sector and those considered as being at high risk, such as car and motorcycle taxi-drivers, elderly care workers and officials working at child care centres.

A million a month?? While better than nothing, at that rate all of greater Bangkok will not get the vaccine until next year while the rest of us get to sit back and wait. Not moving fast enough.

Finally they've got the message... start vaccinations to control the infections.

Now they just need to realise Thailand is more than Bangkok...

But it's really not. Ten percent of the entire population in one city. In most developing countries the capital is everything. All roads lead to Rome.

Even Phuket pales in comparison in every way. CM is just a backwater.

A good start if the plan goes as stated. However with a population of approximately 70 million and two vax per person, all persons in Thailand will receive vaccinations by August of 2032. Hopefully there is a plan to accelerate the vaccination rate?

Whoever wants to be vaccinated is free to do so. Whoever has doubts, or is against it, let him be free without discrimination of any kind.

Serious people, especially if they work in the news media, should say that these vaccinations are experimental until 2023 and the short and long-term effects, as well as the effectiveness, are not known.

Unfortunately, however, the media and political world is overflowing with lobbying and this has exaggerated the narrative and created a universal sense of panic.

A profound media reform would be necessary.

One million a month.  Lofty goals.  Its going to be difficult to vaccinate a lot of the workers who fleed back home to Issan after all the closings.  Hopefully they don't come back to work unvaccinated.

I wouldn't want unvaccinated kids in my childrens school.  If people don't want vaccines that's there perogitive.  However they'll have to stay away from schools, malls, traveling, etc.,

I have stated my case before, in that once the vaccine available watch the Thais move into action. Country wide they wil set up 800 stations for administering most of which will have 6 people capable of administering (5 active, 1 for fill in) 12 an hour,  + all the back up staff for registration, issuing of certificates, garbage disposal etc.

This equates to about 10 million a month.

The 64 $ question is WHERE ARE THE VACCINES?

Can SiamBioscience make this amount on a continuing basis for at least 9 months?

When are they going to start commercially producing any ?

Meanwhile they've reopened indoors restaurants for dining in today while keeping the public parks closed. That should do wonders to keep virus transmission at bay until everyone has been vaccinated! Clowns.

Talk is cheap and plentiful ..

Just get on with it if you want to be in with any chance of arresting the progress of the slow motion car crash that is the vacc' rollout ..

Total bkk population is bit over 10 million. So 70/80% is 7/8 months. Not that bad I would say

My bad, I thought BBK a bit more. Still, there are 65-70 million in Thailand, not sure how many adults, but don't see everyone who wants a vaccine to get it before the end of the year. Maybe by the 1st or 2nd quarter of next year.
