Prachuap Khiri Khan radio reported a second outbreak of Covid-19 at another pineapple canning factory in the Hua Hin area.

The first was at Quality Pineapple that remains largely sealed off in the Hin Lek Fai area.

Now 42 cases were confirmed by the Prachuap Khiri Khan health authorities at Dole Thailand Co Ltd in Nong Plap after proactive testing.

The outbreak started after one foreign employee was infected by someone from the Quality factory on May 8th.

Dole has 3,800 employees - among these are 1,375 from Myanmar and 2,420 Thais.

Uninfected workers continue to work there as the factory has not been closed down, said PK Radio.

They are not leaving the facility.

Infected people have been taken to hospitals while decisions on what to do with the rest of the workforce continue.

The authorities said the situation was "under control".

Dole is a very big plant and this would affect exports tremendously should they shut this plant down.  Waiting to see what action is truly being undertaken......The world needs it's canned pineapple, and Dole is one of the best.

Those famous last 3 words... "It's under control"

Two Workers from different Pineapple Processing Plants... Are we to assume that Pineapple is now Officially a Carrier of Covid 19?

Maybe we should check new affectie's to see if they have eaten any Pineapple in last 24 hrs......

Might just be a Thai in there somehow connect'd ????

????????

But, but , but, the Quality Factory was supposed to be locked down.

And if this was the root cause, then the Infection has been in the "Dole Plant " for 17 Days before being found and reported.

Great testing again.

Exactly, it will have spread to many more people during this time.

We haven't heard the last of this little outbreak.

Of course it is under control, as it is only going to be another cluster, and it seems that Thailand is becoming the land of clusters.

Good luck with all of you getting your 2 shots of vaccines.  I hope that by next year when I show up, the majority of Thais and expats

and the illegal aliens are all vaccinated with the COVID vaccines.
