anchadian
According to reports, AZ will not be available in June. Hospitals restrict vaccine registration amid supply concerns The Chulabhorn Royal Academy (CRA) and several private hospitals were closing their registration procedures for vaccination against the Covid-19 virus on Monday. The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) last week asked people to “slow down” their vaccine registration via the Mor Phrom Application due to limited supply of vaccines. The locally produced AstraZeneca vaccine will reportedly not be delivered in June as scheduled. https://www.thaienquirer.com/28085/hospitals-restrict-vaccine-registration-amid-supply-concerns/
Lacessit
I have been unable to register at my private hospital in Chiang Rai, although they are quite happy to take my money for anything else. I am registered with the poo yai in my GF's village, and should get priority due to my age if a vaccine ever arrives. mfd101
I'm not planning to crawl out from under the bed till July. At some time around then I will pressure my b/f into actually checking with our local (sth Surin/Prasat) clinic & public & private hospitals. Depending on the result I will then take action as appropriate. Till then I'm relying on his village network for information, but the only thing that travels at lightening speed there is gossip about unmentionables. Anything important travels at snail pace with superstitious attachments.

Popular Post TallGuyJohninBKK
It's the height of doublespeak for the government to be happily urging foreign nationals to register for supposed government vaccines when at the same time, one of the only two locations they've publicly announced for Bangkok abruptly closed their pre-registration process last week after just several days (something the government thus far hasn't even publicly acknowledged), and the other location hasn't been heard from at all! And as for "going to the local hospital that has your medical records," a lot of expats in Bangkok tend to use private hospitals probably moreso than folks in outlying provinces. And at the top of the list of those in Bangkok is Bumrungrad which, when I checked with them the other day, said they didn't yet know if they would be registering foreign nationals for the government vaccine program. The notion of private hospitals participating in the registration process for the government's vaccine program has always been, to me at least, a somewhat dubious proposition. Because, they're not going to get paid for any effort in that direction. And if a private hospital were to support the government's vaccine program in that way, they'll simply end up undercutting their own future market for selling imported vaccines through the Thai Private Hospitals Assn. vaccination effort. Will be interesting to see just what happens come June 7. Edited May 31, 2021 by TallGuyJohninBKK

The reason registration is required in the early days of vaccinations is that you don't want swarms of people waiting to be vaccinated. A plan that creates chaos is not a great plan. Some do have lesser requirements regarding quarantine or self-isolation if you've had a particular vaccine, however. My point is in some counties vaccinated people have more freedom, if Sinovac is not approved you probably need another vaccination with an approved vaccine.Actually not a problem,I just have no idea how healthy it is if you get Sinovac and a few months later Moderna or Biontech/Pfizer.My wife got her 2nd Sinovac shot last week she is happy with it and is urging me to get Sinovac too.Az is a no go, in most European counties AZ is only for 60+ people. In August I want to go to Europe so not sure what I'm going to do

Makoshark
I registered last month at BNH . . . At that time they told me 6 months. I decided to leave Thailand July 1st and get the vaccine of my choice in the USA. Shameful how this was all handled and from a guy who spent on average 3000 bht per night in Patpong . . . and that's just at the bar....Your can include shopping, restaurants, travel within Thailand and donations. The loss of money is staggering for the Thai people, and the American Embassy ....we wont discuss their help in this vaccine matter.

Yes, it's not quite as effective as others, but It's still better than no vaccination whatever. You can always take the Sinovac and then later take the vaccine of your choice. Makes me laugh when I here all this anti sinovac talk. If its so bad why do we not hear stories coming out of China about large numbers of people suffering side affects or numbers of infected raising. And lets face it we only ever hear the bad news from China....thats how the American propaganda machine works right. No the Chinese economy is almost back to normal, almost pre covid. They got it beat by neccessary means including the hated Sinovac not by their leader suggesting a disinfectant enema or that the wind will blow covid away tomorrow lol! swm59nj
First, I hope every person living in Thailand who wants to be vaccinated will be able to do so. And I mean every person. Not by what country they are from. Im talking about both Thai people and expats. But Im confused about this vaccine registration process as it stands as of today. I was under the impression there was going to be modified registration app. This is so expats that do not have a Pink Card/ Yellow Book can register. Then I read to go to a hospital where you would have your medical records. Im guessing this all changed. And you are now supposed to go to your local health department or one of those vaccine centers to register? As of today, Im not really sure what to do. As in some other posts, I have explained. In a month I will be 66 years old. Living in Bangkok. I go to Bumrungard Hospital, where I have my health records. I just called them. And the only information they have is, you still need the Pink Card if you want to register to get a vaccine through the government. And Moderna might be coming September to November. But with the way things are going, Im not counting on anything specific anymore.

ruddick
Okay just spent the last few hours trying to register for a Covid 19 vaccine. The local government hospitals in Bangsaen (Chonburi) basically have no information and no idea how a falang could register for a Covid 19 vaccine jab. I guess they haven't had the memo yet from Bangkok. I even tried our local large private hospital and was told to come back in October. Confusion is yet again the order of the day. I would laugh except I like most retired expats here have lots of pre-existing conditions which makes our mortality very much at risk if we were to catch Covid 19. I am not worried about paying for it, I just want to get my jab and finally end this nightmare. I hope to God this gets sorted out soon but I am not holding my breath.

They also never ask you if you had DPTP vaccination or any other one. But im referring other way around. Popular Post Nick33
After reading this 'official' government announcement I tried to register at various central BKK hospitals. Firstly I tried 3 of the international hospitals that I have frequented and spent significant sums of money at in the last 15 years being resident in Thailand. Being a type 2 diabetic and having a serious spinal medical condition the 2 major operations and rehabilitation that I paid for privately, as I cannot get private medical insurance because of an existing medical history, are well in excess of 6M Baht. All three passed me round and round where staff professed to speak 'little' English. I was cut off 4 times... par for the course there then. Eventually I was informed, or called back by someone that spoke English, that it was Thais first and that they had not been informed when or how they could register 'internationals'. Having run a business here promoting Thailand domestically and internationally for the last 10 years I have paid income tax, corporation tax, VAT and SS and employed countless Thai nationals. I have also bought 3 condos, built houses, supported extended Thai families, bought 7 cars and 8 motorcycles and therefore I feel have contributed to the Thai economy. Sorry but I cannot help feeling a little disappointed by the constant displays of xenophobia that I am met with in the Land of Smiles... and you want us to help you recover tourism and the international interest in Thailand? 1
