Popular Post webfact
By Erich Parpart and James Wilson Former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra hit back on Wednesday at Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha’s criticisms over her government’s rice-pledging scheme. Yingluck said in a Facebook post that Prayut should stop blaming her over the debt that was accumulated by the subsidy program. “I have not run the country for the past seven years. Prayut should start blaming himself, and not only me,” she said. Not really. Some are massively corrupt, others, not so much. Obviously, they didn't do a decent job or they'd still be here running the country! ???? 4 4 10 1

He was loved by the poor masses because of his populist agenda. Remember the cheap tablets to students? The ones that never worked and were broken almost immediately? Don't you know that? Most Thai's miss them dearly, except for the wealthy who own most of the country and enslave their own citizens on chicken feed wages. With money, comes power, so they brought in the military to take out both the brother and sister who the people miss dearly, as I said, except for the rich. Some guys here on the forum as you said, just don't get it. Where else in a democratic society does this happen, not in most civilized country's they adhere to the rules of democracy, that is why we have a democratic election process, not military puppets who come in at the wim of the super rich to oust democratically elected Prime Ministers and governments, especially when there is a process if someone suspects something is wrong, namely the courts. People should ask themselves this, could they live off of the current wage of a Thai, say 250-300 baht a day at the bottom of the heap, I think not, how much are the rich making, we know how much they paying their slaves, and if people start to up rise or talk, they will either shoot them dead, make them disappear or lock them up, let's not forget about talking bad about the big honcho, then you have the defamation laws, all to suite the rich, I think in democratically elected countries you can say what you want about anyone, yes this is not a democracy. Things were much better when both Shinawatra's were in, as for corrupt people within their parties, well, it's part of the culture isn't it, they exist in every party, and if the Shinawatra's didn't exit when they did, they would be behind bars, and there more than likely would have been blood shed between the people and the military, in fact I believe the military encouraged them to leave to avoid all of the news and this way it makes them look guilty, so as to appease their masters. Only the military could change the constitution under everybody's noses to suite, why, because they have the might, financial support of the rich and direction, let's not forget the PM who was supposed to be the caretaker General, then became Prime Minister, now if that isn't a conflict of interest I don't know what is, do you think the rich wanted him there, YES, is the answer, game over, total control with there puppet doing everything they want him too and they have the country where they want it and will run it how they want too, while some spend most of their time overseas while people go hungry. If farangs don't get that the people don't like the guy all the way to the top and this junta, and want change, then they really have no idea of what is happening and what was once a better place for the people of this country. Popular Post JonnyF
All Thai politicians are corrupt. The only difference was that Thaksin and Yingluck gave a bit back as well with the 30 baht healthcare scheme etc. They also did a decent job running the country. Loads of investment back then and Thailand was an Asian tiger. The Junta give nothing back. They keep the boot firmly on the throat of the poor. They are also hugely corrupt and completely incompetent. I know who I'd prefer. 20

But why didn't they stay and fight the charges? It wouldn't have been that difficult to do considering the money and power they had. Seems some here need to read up on the crime and corruption they were involved with. Stunning. But for sure, coups are not the way to handle the situation. Terrible how the military has done this. Some 20 or 30, not all successful. There's also a lot behind the scenes that's not discussed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thaksin_Shinawatra 3 1 2
